"content": "Garden Update<br />Well, my main (old?) garden beds are a bit of an overcrowded mess right now. Not a bad mess, but some of the early season plants are in full swing with summer plants hot on their heals.<br /><br />Here are some of the new beds practically looking barren by comparison, but the are planted out, those that hot filled anyway.<br /><br />Also, don't know how it happened (I would NEVER start FAR FAR too many tomato plants... nope, would NEVER EVER happen... ever) but I really do have too many tomato plants. I also think I have more peppers plants and eggplants than I've ever had before.<br /><br />I actually wish I had more peas though.<br /><br />I also finally might have a chance at a halfway decent three sisters garden, we shall see.",

"content": "A little bit about my garden<br />It occurred to me, I don't think we've ever done sort of an introduction style post where we can just give some basics about our gardens or plant passion projects.<br /><br />So, I'm going to do just that and I invite you to do the same either in the comments or as a separate post, if you'd like to.<br /><br />My garden is in the Northeast United States, zone 6b or 7a, depending on which version of the zone map you follow. It is in a rural-ish suburb, and no, there isn't a lot of space to work with.<br /><br />I've been something of a gardener and forager all my life (I grew up in a rural area), though I'd say I started seriously investing in my garden in 2020, like a lot of other people. I've got a variety of segments to my garden, a wildflower bed, a couple of perennial edible beds, mushroom logs and winecaps growing in my garden paths, the main annual edible beds, a deep shade bed, and technically I live on an orchard now, as I've planted several fruit trees.<br /><br />I like unconventionally garden plants, and the conventional ones too (I always seem to plant more tomatoes than I know what to do with). Pictured is actually my rescue mullein plant which is now in my wildflower garden.<br /><br />Well, this post got long quickly, so I'll wrap it up here. ",

"content": "Mushrooms with Pictures<br />I'm in the process of making a double batch of cream of mushroom soup. The recipe called for 900g of mushrooms. I used 1800g of the mushroom haul, and I still have the colander full. I might just cook those down in garlic butter and freeze them, not sure yet.<br /><br />I was not prepared for this level of abundance so early in the season 😅<br /><br />There are even more mushrooms outside, some are still too little, and some got too old, so I'm leaving them be. ",
