I just lost my work permit and been let go from Banana Republic as a cash manager. I wandered around NYC lost and happened to walk by a gym, where one of my friends where manning the front desk. We started talking and he knew I had a background as former college athlete and I liked to workout.<br />He offered me a position as a personal trainer. He asked if “ I could sell”. At that time, unemployed and without status in NYC. I could sell anything.<br />So I started as a trainer and shortly after one of my clients offered to pay a trial session in BTC. I got my first pieces of Bitcoin, and I was of to the races.<br />Now I wish I could say that I kept stacking Satoshis and sold at their ATH.<br />But that's not my story; instead I got more interested in the freedom, and liberty of blockchain. Being my own bank.<br /> <br />I have been reaching for a way to combine these two loves of mine.<br />And so here we are, at my new site, Body on the Block. A personal fitness and finance blog, talking about training and blockchain.<br />I’m currently having a coffee with my lovely family; my wife is 8 ½ months pregnant with my second daughter. My first daughter is a wild two and half year old toddler. WE fled the crazy Manhattan Covid-19 explosion to my native Sweden, and trying this digital Nomad life style. After my coffee I’m going to walk out in the early brisk morning summer weather. I live next two a ski slope that is perfect for a little mindful hike. I feel there is a great need to center myself and going for a mild light walk after black coffee does that.<br />Nature has a calming effect on me, and it’s always good to start the day doing something just for me. The rest of the day belongs to my wife and kid, and work and the world. We as a society in the west or in this modern world seem to be preoccupied with youth and time.<br />We have to go to college, we have to get all A, we have to succeed when young. We reach our peek around 25 but the real fun is around our teenage years. <br />That’s a bunch of bull, I could not live up to that. I spent my teens in self pity and bad confidence, my college years bouncing between party weekend alcoholism and athletic over achievement. The 25 to 30 year period as homeless and alcoholic. <br /><br />My best time is now, I am fit, happy and live abundantly on my own pace happy joyous and free. A day at a time, I am achieving a life I want to pass on to my friends and child.<br /><br />I am right where I want to be, I choose not to listen to all the noice and surround myself with people that support.<br /><br />My goals are to live a life of abundance by realizing that what I have is enough. Nothing is lacking. <br />By competing with myself where I am at right now I can be happy. <br /><br />I’m not a 22 year old MMA fighter I am a 43 year old BJJ guy. That’s enough. I get to train with my peers and compete in masters. Still have that athletic outlet and grow mentally and fitness wise. I changed my viewpoint to align with what I am capable of.<br /><br />I get to work with something I love. I get to help people as a trainer. On my own pace. I work privately get my own clients. I don’t work for a big chain like Equinox or another gym any more. I don’t need the stress or competitiveness. I make less and so I spend less, but I seen all development milestones of my daughter. Cause I have more time. That’s worth everything to me.<br /><br />So I suggest that whatever you want in life, you take a look at your goals. I manage to live a life of abundance by changing my inner compass. Not trying to achieve outside reward. Off course it’s not easy but I have to do this daily.<br /><br />My next goal is to tackle my debt using crypto , dividend stocks and snowball method. But first I needed to get my mind and spirit right.<br /><br />What are your thoughts ? But my portfolio have about a 70-30 % split into crypto that I will gradually move into more balance. <br /><br />The gains from my crypto assets are fluctuating depending on the coins value but I tried to calculate the $ dollar amount. I plan to gather the gains from every month passively into stable coins to hold the value. <br /><br /><br /><br />I use De-Fi apps like Compound, MakerDao and coins like Neo and Ontology to gain income. My goal is to one day have my own masternode.<br /><br />My monthly gain for the month of July will be at the end of the month about $14.69. I have been doing jiujitsu for almost 7 years and I attained the rank of purple belt. As my skill grew and age, I also grew in injuries and responsibilities. I had a kid and I got more work, it took me away from bjj but I am returning back to working out and getting back in shape. I am taking baby steps. I will start my day with fasted cardio, only coffee or tea before breakfast. Then workout with weights about three times a week. I want to start this blog to record my trials and tribulations, my successes and the road I am taking towards a goal of early retirement. I am a husband and father of a beautiful baby girl with my wife. I have too much debt, I have to little income and I am a sober former NYC homeless person. I am in recovery and live my life day by day as far as sobriety and spirituality. But how does that approach work, together with the meticulous, long term goals and patience of finance and wealth creation?<br /><br />Patience is not one of my strong suits, but much needed if I want to reach my goals and be able to provide for my family in future.<br /><br />So I started to educate myself financially as well as I could. Started to read up and watch financial successful people. I know that mentorship, the practice of following and copying people that are successful is crucial to recovery and how I became sober, I thought I could adopt that habit to my financial life. But I found that I need a thrill as well to the “slow” ride of regular finance.<br /><br />After all I am a risk taker so I have in my portfolio some exposure to crypto currencies.
