It's been needed for a while now.<br /><br />The M1-Mac Mini is set up where I want it and I can now turn the chair around to the gaming computer when I'm ready to play <a href=\"https://www.minds.com/search?f=top&amp;t=all&amp;q=WoW\" title=\"#WoW\" class=\"u-url hashtag\" target=\"_blank\">#WoW</a> (I'm mostly Alliance, but do have an alt that is Horde). On that, I agree. That said, we need to understand the concepts of nuance and context.<br /><br />It wasn't simply about opposition to a tea tax. There was quartering of troops in peoples' homes, regulation of the press, restrictions on who could be armed, and restrictions on who could gather (along with how many could gather and where).<br /><br />In other words, a government that was across the Atlantic Ocean was trying to tell a bunch of people on this continent what they could and couldn't do.<br /><br />None of this is to say that the founders were perfect. They were fallible just like any other human being. They lacked the courage to address slavery and kicked the can down the road when they put forth the constitution. Native populations were treated horribly as well.<br /><br />To say that the United States is the selfish brother that nobody wanted is to overlook a crucial point in world history.<br /><br />The Canadian government also has blood on its hands regarding the eradication of native culture as latest news events have revealed. Various native tribes also have a history of warring against one another. Even members of the British Parliament opposed what their own military was doing across the Atlantic.<br /><br />The point that is missed is that nobody is truly innocent, for they are human and are prone to making mistakes. For all the errors made by numerous people throughout history, ideas emerged that are not constrained by imaginary lines drawn on a map.<br /><br />The idea of independence.<br /><br />This idea that implies that we are all adults who should be able to make our own decisions in life without some distant, out of touch entity telling us otherwise, transcends the concept of nation states and empires. It can apply to anyone regardless of who they are, what they look like, and where they are from.<br /><br />For all the wrongs that the founders have committed, they did manage to get a few things right. We shouldn't put them on a pedestal, for they were human beings.
