"content": "My high school and college years were in the sixties. The seventies were my military and Vietnam service years. I physically survived both. Unfortunately, the latter caused many mental scars, all of which for years I have been able to bury - way in the back of my head. Recently they have been haunting and torturing me again. I know that torture is an act of inflicting physical or psychological pain in order to fulfill some desire of the torturer...but it is ME who is inflicting my own pain and I cannot figure out what action that “ME the torturer” wants ME to take. <br /><br />I see my Psychiatrist (“my crazy doctor”) at the VA in Cape Coral...whenever I feel the need.. He’s great and has helped me a lot. My wife Dot has been super supportive and non-judgemental. She is always here for me, without Dot I know that I would not be alive today.<br /><br />My point in writing this down is to make a plea to anyone reading... Be kind to others, everyone has issues, some plainly visible and some we keep hidden from everyone, or more accurately, we ATTEMPT to keep hidden from everyone... including ourselves.<br />",

My home base was LZ Nancy but I was assigned to the 101st out of Camp Eagle as one of their FO’s. Worked the high hills overlooking the A Shaw valley until Lam Son 719 got underway...Sent first to Vandergrift Combat Base, then on to Khe Sanh. It was an exciting time, and a sad time, I owe so much to so many of you all. Thank you…this is Whiskey 69er...Fire for effect...69er OUT.",
