First, I think that you should choose the definition that suits you. But second, let me address this and why I choose 4 planets.<br /> <br />What is the difference between conjunctions and a Stellium? A Stellium represents a serious amount of energy concentrated at the same focal point, making it hard for the person to achieve balance. A Stellium indicates that the person is here on a mission, and has the power to break traditions and rules, and especially in their chosen field. They have the ability to inspire and diffuse a new way of thinking or doing.<br />Now what happens if you have conjunctions but no Stellium? Well it’s still a lot of energies in the same spot in your chart. Whatever you decide to call it, it stills represents a lot of focused energy and a certain unbalance. It’s only a matter of degree, and a matter of purpose.<br /> <br />Now let’s say a Stellium is 3 planets. Sun and Mercury are never too far from each other and very often are conjunct. Now how rare would it for 3 planets to be conjunct and form a Stellium? Not rare at all, actually very common. Let’s take the 1989 generation now, every single person born in 1989 has a Stellium under this definition, with Saturn-Neptune-Uranus conjunct, and of course Sun for anyone born in January. Does it sound rare? Not really either. For this generation I would require 5 planets conjunct because of this special configuration.<br />This logic is the one I follow and the reason why I choose to define a Stellium as 4 planets or more. Everyone is free to choose the definition that they deem makes the most sense.<br /> <br />When there is a Stellium in the natal chart, there can be a difficulty to actually achieve whatever purpose or destiny the person is designed to fulfill. Why? Because there is a huge pressure, the person feels compelled to succeed at such a high level, that every time they do not meet the standards they created for themselves they feel like they failed themselves. This pressure can be overpowering and the person can feel paralyzed. <br />The person with a Stellium deeply knows that they are supposed to achieve great things, but it’s not because they know that it makes it easier to do so. The holder of a Stellium knows they HAVE to, which means stress, pressure, but also a sense of duty.<br /> <br />Now how do you make the best out of it?<br />Some people have Stelliums that are positively aspected and they may not feel this pressure as much as others. If you have challenging aspects to your Stellium, chances are you definitely know what I am talking about.<br />The person with a Stellium is going to encounter lots of different situations, challenges, and difficulties. Why? Because they need to develop their strength and talents, and this doesn’t happen overnight. When you feel cursed, remember that at the end of the dark path, you’ll be blessed with a new found strength, power, and you’ll know yourself enough to pursue your destiny. It’s still a long path and a long road to achieve, but nothing great comes out of easiness.<br />It may take time, and it’s fine. Having a Stellium is like trying to understand the concept of Nature by looking at a leaf in a microscope. There is so much energy in the same spot that you may lose the bigger picture by focusing too much on certain aspects of yourself. It also means you usually have very high standards for yourself and you need to learn how to love yourself more and be kinder with yourself, regardless of what you do or achieve.<br /> <br />There’s usually a lack of self-confidence and you can be clueless as to what your gifts are. For years I kept saying that I had no idea what I was good at, and still had this underlying feeling that I could be good at a lot of things. It’s a bit of an identity crisis; who am I, why am I here, what good am I doing.<br /> <br />As the transits hit your Stellium, your personality and perception of yourself is going to change dramatically. This is what you want to look for, because this is those transits who will allow you to blossom to your full capacity.
