"content": "I have always been a big supporter of young folks going into the military service as a way to mature-grow-learn a trade and defend our Nation. My Kids all had three choices after High School…Go to college-Go to Military or move and support yourself..two went to college, one went to the Army…When Alex, our grandson who lived with us, finished he had the same three choices and he went to the Marines. <br />The last election has changed the very nature of our Nation, possibly never to return to the America I love and swore to protect (the constitution) with my life if needed. <br /><br />I am extremely saddened that I am forced to agree with Jordan Schachtel when he wrote: It’s hard to find an example where the benefits outweigh the potential costs. Sadly, for now, it seems unwise and even dangerous to commit yourself to a once great institution. In this day and age, patriotism means speaking out against the anti-American forces in D.C.<br /><br />The full article is at this link…not real long but a lot of food for thought. I can no longer, in good conscience, recommend that young people enter the military or even the majority of universities. I believe trade school is the best option for many. The youth today face many choices and are subjected to many voices, some of which are out to deceive them.
