"content": "A prayer:<br />Holy and righteous God of all. You are worthy of all praise and glory and honor forever and ever. I'm a sinner worthy of nothing but punishment. If I were a master and had a slave such as myself I would have put him out of my house long ago. You gave sight to my blind eyes and I use them for lust and envy. You give hearing to my deaf ears and I have used them to listen to that which pleases the world. You gave me life and I have used it for my own pleasures. If I had a slave that I had shown this much kindness to, and he acted as I have he would be met with my own raised fist and justice. When your Holy Spirit draws me to your presence I expect to see the Lord of Glory on His white steed, eyes like fire, with a sword in hand. Righteously ready to pour out the cup of just wrath on my head. But, I open my fearful eyes to see the humble lamb… bloody from being pierced for my transgressions. Gently welcoming me into his presence as if I were sinless. What kind of God are you!? That you have done such a thing for me. Forgive me, saying I'm unworthy of you is woefully insufficient. Your lovingkindness brings me to repentance time after time. Make me more like your son. I want to be a good and faithful servant. Give me the strength to submit to you in all areas of my life. Don't hesitate to chasten me. Make my legs stumble if they try to leave the narrow path. Grow in your servant the mind of Christ. Sanctify me by your sovereign will, through your Holy Spirit, and for Your eternal glory.
