"content": "Do you like Vermintide 1 or 2 or perhaps you liked Left4dead? If you are a bit like me and waiting for better and better 40k based FPS games then hopefully Dark Tide will be good. I'm hoping you don't get unlimited ammo, which is one of the things that is often unexplained when 40k games/books inspire PC games. (and then I have to imagine that ammo is constantly being teleported.) I love Necromunda the tabletop game and the PC game is wonderful, but similar to the tabletop it is ridiculously time consuming because of waiting for turns.

I've always wanted an immersive and disbelief suspending FPS game that is very interactive. I can give them a pass if most of the interaction is combat, but it's well done. What I want is a very interactive environment so I can grab part of the nearby junk and make barricades and I want to be able to see it happen and it to be at least somewhat passible when they try to take shortcuts in the hand animations and whatnot.

7 days to die needs to be mentioned here, because they give the ability to build and deconstruct and salvage and make walls and barricades and traps etc, but it's the kind of crafting system that happens inside your inventory in translucent windows with a progress % and inventory square slots and blah blah blah. And what I want is something that is physical looking and made for a faster paced game and they can have a more tedious but universal crafting system built in to the inventory, but I want there to be world object manipulation. (I know, easier said than done... making a natural looking physics system where you can also interact with objects and manipulate, alter and often combine them)

It's an art form, to design and bring all the desired features together, to make it playable, to make it look good, to make it suspend disbelief, and to make it replay-able. It's also expensive. And it will never get off the ground or even be a good game if they put too many features into it. Anyway...

About creative freedom for the player, and replayability, and making the game interesting. I want random generation to the maps and events.

I often would imagine a game where it's first person and you're alone and walking in a fog. Alone in the mist. And you can hear some things happening, off in the distance sometimes, but it's a bit muffled. You walk (yay it's a walking simulator) and you come across random stuff on the ground. Some of it could be useful, but it's obviously been dropped by accident or left behind in a gruesome scene and there are tracks. You can follow the tracks or wander off back into the mist. And I could like to be random. So you could stumble across an attack in progress on a wagon train or some random time period. And the time periods would cross over as people bump into each other in the mist and there could be some clearings or thinner parts in the mist.

In The Dark Tower, they have the thinning, where worlds meet and there can be crossovers. I'm not trying to be inspired by the dark tower. I had this game idea before I read it. I did like most of the books though. A lot of it I just wanted to skip through and it made me think Stephen King is kind of an idiot about some things. Anyway it's rare to find somebody you agree with on everything.

My vision for a good FPS game with random happenings and a different story every time involves mostly physical interaction with stuff you find and being able to alter and combine the stuff and it could involve crossovers with different time periods or have it's own theme/story. And coming across other living or dead people and taking or trading for their stuff or being like wtf I don't know how to interact with you, because we don't speak the same language. There could be body language and signal emotes in the game. Like you make a white flag and somehow get them to see it in the mist (where people hesitate or go crazy not being able to tell what is real) Maybe you could call out to the people. In phasmaphobia you can talk to the ghosts and vice versa, some.

It could be that there are only violent psychos in the mist and you mostly come across the remains of the dead or violent and dangerous living. It could crossover a lot of other genres besides time periods and it's also an adaptable idea for 40k warp lore etc.",

(and then I have to imagine that ammo is constantly being teleported.) I love Necromunda the tabletop game and the PC game is wonderful, but similar to the tabletop it is ridiculously time consuming because of waiting for turns.\n\nI've always wanted an immersive and disbelief suspending FPS game that is very interactive. I can give them a pass if most of the interaction is combat, but it's well done. What I want is a very interactive environment so I can grab part of the nearby junk and make barricades and I want to be able to see it happen and it to be at least somewhat passible when they try to take shortcuts in the hand animations and whatnot.\n\n7 days to die needs to be mentioned here, because they give the ability to build and deconstruct and salvage and make walls and barricades and traps etc, but it's the kind of crafting system that happens inside your inventory in translucent windows with a progress % and inventory square slots and blah blah blah. And what I want is something that is physical looking and made for a faster paced game and they can have a more tedious but universal crafting system built in to the inventory, but I want there to be world object manipulation. (I know, easier said than done... making a natural looking physics system where you can also interact with objects and manipulate, alter and often combine them)\n\nIt's an art form, to design and bring all the desired features together, to make it playable, to make it look good, to make it suspend disbelief, and to make it replay-able. It's also expensive. And it will never get off the ground or even be a good game if they put too many features into it. Anyway...\n\nAbout creative freedom for the player, and replayability, and making the game interesting. I want random generation to the maps and events.\n\nI often would imagine a game where it's first person and you're alone and walking in a fog. And the time periods would cross over as people bump into each other in the mist and there could be some clearings or thinner parts in the mist.\n\nIn The Dark Tower, they have the thinning, where worlds meet and there can be crossovers. I'm not trying to be inspired by the dark tower. I had this game idea before I read it. I did like most of the books though. A lot of it I just wanted to skip through and it made me think Stephen King is kind of an idiot about some things. Anyway it's rare to find somebody you agree with on everything.\n\nMy vision for a good FPS game with random happenings and a different story every time involves mostly physical interaction with stuff you find and being able to alter and combine the stuff and it could involve crossovers with different time periods or have it's own theme/story. In phasmaphobia you can talk to the ghosts and vice versa, some.\n\nIt could be that there are only violent psychos in the mist and you mostly come across the remains of the dead or violent and dangerous living.
