tongue with singing.

Then they said among the nations,

“The Lord has done great things for them.”

3 The Lord has done great things for us,

And we are glad.

4 Bring back our captivity, O Lord,

As the streams in the South.

5 Those who sow in tears

Shall reap in joy.

6 He who continually goes forth weeping,

Bearing seed for sowing,

Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing,

Bringing his sheaves with him.

God promises to do great things for his people and bring a time of peace and abundance that we can only dream about now.
He promises this to his physical people, Israel, a time of amazing harvests and joyful celebration in their own land after a time of exile.

Amos 9
“The time will come,” says the Lord,

“when the grain and grapes will grow faster

than they can be harvested.
<br firmly plant them there

in their own land.

They will never again be uprooted

from the land I have given them,”

says the Lord your God.

And to his Saints God declares these great things:

Revelation 21
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. 2 And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.

3 I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”

5 And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.” 6 And he also said, “It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End.
