It’s even a social trope to do something profoundly harmful or inconsiderate, and then shrug and say, “It’s just business.”⠀\n⠀\nAnd a lot of the bad things about the world are the way they are because of disassociation from one’s actions, whether it be through an LLC or otherwise. ⠀\n⠀\nWhat if we were to drop the idea that any corporate or governmental action is ever done by anything other than one or more humans? ⠀\n⠀\nDoesn’t that make any unsavory law or action much more realistic to approach and try to change, also by one or more humans, because suddenly everyone’s on the same playing field?⠀\n⠀\nShouldn't we stop acting as if these fake business entities are real and start dealing with each other human to human, whether we agree or not? There's greater accountability for the choices we are making, more discussions, and more community connectivity that occurs when we view it this way.⠀\n⠀\nI’m not dictating specifics of how business, etc. should be—it’s a very complex discussion and this is not the venue for that—these are just questions to ponder. ⠀\n⠀\nI, btw, am in support of all people, independent of race, religion, sexuality, and everything else, feeling like an equal and valued member of society. When we try to marginalize those we disagree with or are different from, we limit our opportunities mutually to learn from and influence one another. ⠀\n\nAnd while I will not tolerate abuse of myself or anyone else, nor spend too much time on someone who is refusing to examine themselves critically, you too, even if you strongly disagree with me, are as welcome here and in conversation with me as anyone else.\n\nPhoto credit to Khongor Ganbold/Unsplash.\n\n#lgbtq #pride #accountability #businessethics #ownyourchoices", "mediaType": "text/plain" } }, "id": "https://www.minds.com/api/activitypub/users/862702711458504724/entities/urn:activity:987034577862893568/activity" }, { "type": "Create", "actor": "https://www.minds.com/api/activitypub/users/862702711458504724", "object": { "type": "Note", "id": "https://www.minds.com/api/activitypub/users/862702711458504724/entities/urn:activity:986717017828331520", "attributedTo": "https://www.minds.com/api/activitypub/users/862702711458504724", "content": "Apologies for the super basic questions.
