I've twice broken this rule in my life and discovered that my maximum work-rate for a single publication is one piece a month. This is not to say O'Neill is a bad person or a bad writer, but I know as well as I know my own height that I am not that sort of person or that sort of writer.

I'm also aware I have only two special talents: first, I can write novels. And second, I can explain law and legal history to laypeople in a way that makes sense without traducing the source material. Anything else I do in addition to that is a bonus, really.

To that end, I have accepted a monthly column with Law & Liberty, a publication of Liberty Fund, a US think-tank and non-profit. I have had a relationship with Liberty Fund over many years (and long ago formed the view they must have more money than God). I admit I'm quite flattered at their invitation - I don't even have a US book deal for any of my novels!

Law & Liberty is a publication that prevails upon its lawyer-writers (it is a professional outlet) to write clearly about the law, something absolutely necessary these days given lawyers are increasingly expected to engage in ethical load-bearing.

I do suggest you sign up (at the link) for one of their newsletters.

https://lawliberty.org",
