"content": "Tether's utter lack of transparency and integrity in its operations makes it a ticking timebomb of insolvency. Getting to talk to Tory Reiss about TrustToken's TrueUSD really put things into perspective, and the fact that the stablecoin receives regular audits (and is in talks with two of the big four accounting firms) shows Tether could receive an official audit if it tried--problem is, it likely won't because the funds likely aren't there. Glad to see the team at TrustToken working hard to show that there is a legitimate, honest way to issue fiat-backed stablecoins. Some of us are fortunate enough to not have to rely on alternative currencies to afford basic necessities and food--others aren't. Cryptocurrencies give purchasing power back to the people to free them from faltering economies and the economic vice grip of corrupt governments. We'd rather stick to embargoes, impractical border walls, and political polarization.<br /><br />Trump's worried about a trade war of today.
