I'm going to be playing through it, and I recommend anyone who is interested give it a shot, because it's FREE.<br /><br />I'm going in completely blind, save for the trailer and some promotional stuff I saw years(?) ago. It's rare for me to be this excited for a new game, though.",

I was especially frustrated because such games aren't hard to make, at least to the same quality in the post. Action sneaks up on the reader before quickly vanishing, organically flowing within the story as the characters also try to keep up.<br /><br />So much of the story has already happened in the first five chapters, making this an easy book to recommend, alongside the first one in the series. At this point, I would still recommend reading in order, but beyond some potential spoilers for the first, I would say that there hasn’t been anything yet that requires a familiarity with the previous one to understand what is happening in the next.",

I bought the paperback quite awhile ago, and I was only getting around to reading it now. I thought it strange it had named chapters but no table of contents, and upon checking Amazon, it seems the newest version DOES have a table of contents. I primarily noticed this because the current version also has an entirely different cover for the book.<br /> <br />I would HOPE the book available for purchase did not entirely change from when I bought it, and these were just changes for marketing and quality of life. If so, this review would be for a story that no longer exists.<br /><br />I read the first five chapters, and the book really lives up to its name in that it brings the death in the very first one. The book does not wait around to kick things off, and it doesn’t give you the chance to become too attached to all the named characters that were marked for death. This is hardly a spoiler, it’s in the book’s blurb.<br /><br />The next four involve almost nothing happening. I suspect something might happen in chapter 6, but I only read to five for these lightning reviews, so I don’t know when the next big thing happens. HOWEVER, and this is a rather big however, we do get more context and worldbuilding related to the catastrophe in the first chapter. Though some of it is internal monologue, and covering the same ground from other POVs, much of it feels very grounded. Everything is tied to the main event and how characters feel about that, and though it could be better, it does it’s job well enough. I can’t complain.<br /><br />I feel the antagonist’s motivations are a tad weak, but there is time in the story for that to change, and it’s written well enough that I plan to finish it to find out.",

"content": "I'm trying to spend less time on politics (at least on my main account), but this is the kind of event that requires at least some kind of comment from everyone.<br /><br />The assassination attempt on Donald Trump is unsurprising, given the rhetoric on the left. I'm slightly more surprised at people trying to say it was staged, only used a BB gun, etc., when such things obviously will backfire in a fashion not unlike the Rittenhouse lies. An innocent bystander died at that rally (may they rest in peace, and my sincerest condolences to the family), as did the shooter. I would give more credence to it being staged if there was not a small army of leftoids bemoaning the fact the shot missed, and in so doing gave Trump the most iconic campaign image since his mugshot.<br /><br />We are well past the point of this stopping. This division only gets worse if they are successful in taking out Trump. I was already thinking a civil war to be possible, regardless of who wins the election. It was likely Trump wins reelection before the shooting, and it's even more certain after, but their desperation suggests there could be attempts at subverting democratic will that put past antics to shame.<br /><br />I humbly suggest all Americans stay safe, prepare, and vote Donald Trump in November. That is all.",

This division only gets worse if they are successful in taking out Trump. I was already thinking a civil war to be possible, regardless of who wins the election. It was likely Trump wins reelection before the shooting, and it's even more certain after, but their desperation suggests there could be attempts at subverting democratic will that put past antics to shame.\n\nI humbly suggest all Americans stay safe, prepare, and vote Donald Trump in November.
