"content": "Been there, seen that...<br />I've seen this happen before in my home country Mexico, all the hatred, the division, the fear and mistrust. Ignorance valued more than knowledge, conspiracy theories right and left, back and forth. A deep political crisis that has endured generations. It has transcended political parties, NGOs, politicians and institutions. A crisis that turns brothers against each other, parents against their sons, heroes into villains and villains into heroes destroying the social fabric and the values that are at the core of every nation. A similar crisis is rooting in the United States of America, once a proud nation now being torn apart into the Divided States of America.<br />There isn't a single issue unifying the American people. Call it is gun control or tax cuts, school shootings or the Olympic games, the national anthem or the Constitution; dissenting is the name of the game, being against anything or everything. Americans used to be winners, but they could also digest a loss, nowadays if the result of an election is unfavorable to a particular candidate, his followers question the results, the legitimacy of the winner.<br />On Super Bowl XLV the Pittsburgh Steelers faced the Green Bay Packers. Pittsburgh prevailed in every metric, they had more total yards, 387 vs 338; Time of Possession, 33:25 vs 26:35; first downs, 19 vs.15... But the Steelers turned over the ball three times versus zero for the Packers; the result, the Packers won the Superbowl 31 to 25. Can you imagine the Steelers questioning the rules of the game, the legitimacy of the Packers or the NFL? That is what the Democrats have been doing since loosing the election, questioning the system and the electoral college, the legitimacy of the winner and the democracy. Clinton got more votes but fumbled Pennsylvania, Michigan and Ohio and lost. Unable to recognize her mistakes, she and her followers have taken against the system, the rules and the winner. And this is just an example of the polarization prevalent in the Divided States of America.<br />The media is taking sides in favor of candidates and parties instead of presenting information in an unbiased way and allow people to form their own criteria and draw their own conclusions. Schools and Universities are violating basic human rights as free speech if it doesn't match the political inclination of students, faculty members or guests. Democrats in congress are unable to applaud even when some of the policies they fought for decades get implemented and why? Because it's Trump and not Obama who is walking the walk and not just talking the talk. The list goes on and on...<br />It doesn't matter if the US collapses, as long as Donald Trump fails, it doesn't matter if he is right or wrong, it is \"my way or the highway\", and if it ain't my way, then it has to be the highway for all who disagree. Either you are with me or against me is the new mantra in the DSA.<br />This will not have a happy ending. First of all, the vacuum created by the struggle for power will allow special interests to take advantage of the confusion, the ignorance and the division. In Mexico it was organized crime that infiltrated in all the emptiness created by the power struggle. Now mobsters reign that nation, they have become the new Robin Hoods, the heroes and raw models for millions. Monopolies and the robber barons also thrived becoming among the wealthiest corporations and individuals in the world. Income polarized just like the rest of the society.<br />Looking at this as an outsider, I can tell you not only that I've seen this happen before, that it will not end pretty but also that Americans should be grateful that the White House was won by a man with common sense, one that truly represents the American People. Who would not like to be like Donald Trump? A Billionaire, a TV Star, a family man, a warrior who made it all the way to the top against all odds, against all the rooted special interest, against Hollywood and the Media, against the political establishment and now we know, even against the intelligence community. Does he deserve the benefit of the doubt? No question Will he get it?. Of course he wont. And that is exactly the new face of the Divided States of America, a nation that valued success, courage and freedom and now opposes it with ignorance, fear and division.<br />America has seen its Zenith and as the saying goes... The bigger they are, the harder they fall.
