"content": "I challenge other adults to genuinely let children know about things that don’t go right, or that are hard for you just as much as we project power, authority and knowledge. Children seen through our bravado anyway and think more of us when we’re honest. If my experience is any guide, you’ll feel better and gain insights into yourself and also possibly help the next generation escape a cycle of fearing failure. The stories of success are all the same anyway, it all about persistence. <br /><br />“Many kids today see failure as inherently bad, and success as beyond their reach. Her 2016 study, which tested more than 400 ninth- and 10th-graders at four low-income New York City schools, found that many of the kids viewed success as a result of some kind of natural aptitude that they simply didn’t have. The students didn’t tend to think of famous scientists like Albert Einstein as actual, imperfect people like themselves—students who didn’t learn about the scientists’ struggles were more likely to say that those scientists had innate talent and aptitude which separated them from everyone else.”<br /><br /><a href=\"https://theatln.tc/2HpUR30\" target=\"_blank\">https://theatln.tc/2HpUR30</a>",
