But what's even more impressive to me is that I can still recall SO much and SO many moments there. <br />The music from the juke-box is still on the web-site for all to hear. From the tunes we all danced to (with so much energy and dexterity, most of which I no longer have today), together for the sake of dancing, together for the sake of being close to one-another, and even solo, because music was for dancing and dancing was for all.<br />The \"home\" page on the site has been \"adjusted\" for the anniversary, but the information and pages are all there. Admittedly, there isn't much... because finding information on The Lodge is almost impossible.<br />Just as, on the night of 20 January 1974, when the \"lovely\" people of Washingtonville NY blocked access to SEVERAL fire departments who responded to extinguish the flames, the \"lovely\" people who could, managed to erase just about every trace of the The Lodge. <br />But it lives on in memory... and to the chagrin, I'm sure, of many, I can say that I'm still around to keep that memory alive. Not sure how many others there are these days. Back then, ages averaged late-teens/early 20s. There were those in their 30s, some in their 40s (and \"Uncle Phil\" who was ageless). So today, with \"time\" and \"life\", there's likely very few of us.<br />But I hope that the site provides, at least with the music, a bit of enjoyment for any and everybody and that if you choose to visit for what-ever, you take a moment to leave a little message on the \"Sojourners'\" page.<br />I get NO financial support from or for the site. The most I've received were \"tokens\" from here, on Minds. The site is a \"labour of love\"... I could never bring The Lodge back, though, often, I dreamt of doing just that. And I haven't been back to the property in a great many years. I have an idea what it looks like today (thanks to \"Google\") and though it's nothing like it was in 1974...<br />\"And though time goes by I will always be in a club with you in 1973\".<br />I have the music. I have the memories, still as crisp and clear as if it all happened moments ago. I HOPE there are others, still around. \"I know you're out there some-where\"... If I'm still here, there's bound to be at least ONE more. We can't \"go back\", but when we hear a song, we can close our eyes and travel, over the distance and time...<br />And for as long as I'm able, I'll keep the memory alive... here, on the internet, in the \"ether\", on \"social media\" where possible, and on the web-site that's still up, running.<br /><br />I'm pretty sure there are those who see these infrequent up-dates and say \"OH GOD! He's STILL here!\" Some relieved... others, sorely disgusted. But you know? The older we get, the less we care about and give to those who'd celebrate our non-existence. Over the years, they've provided nothing, so they're really of no consequence.<br /><br />But for the rest, if we went out to G's on a week-end, together, remember The Lodge... as I remember the GRAND AND GREAT times we had - together - there. <br /><br />It was a MARVELLOUS time! All were family, none were strangers. Music played, people laughed, joys & sorrows were met with kind hearts & sincere souls. Someone had set the main house a-blaze. Years of memories, loves, loves lost, hearts broken & mended... rose into a freezing Winter night's sky.<br />50 years later, the legend lives on.<br />20January 1974 - 20 January2024<br />Come back in time. Hear the music.
