I'm perfectly fine with this, as I tend to view that side of the spectrum as more idealistic than pragmatic. And if there's one thing that I don't support, it's idealism. Because I actually like to win sometimes.<br /><br />But as for why I'm less critical of them than I am of the left, the reasons are numerous. For starters, no one on the right has ever once threatened my life or told me to kill myself/not breed/insulted my family/etc. One national socialist called me a Jew once... I think in his mind, it was a greater insult than it ended up being to a guy who's both not Jewish and not an anti-Semite. Nevertheless, my discourse with the right has been, on the whole, largely cordial. Our disagreements remained just that, and our overlapping beliefs gave us enough common ground to keep our exchanges respectful. So as crazy as it sounds, I have to admit I am more inclined to give slack to people who don't actively wish me harm.<br /><br />Another reason is that the right -- specifically the much-feared white supremacist right -- is objectively little more than a boogeyman designed to terrify people into behaving a certain way. There is no other group on earth that commands so much fear while retaining so little actual power. The fact that you cannot name one white supremacist who currently holds a political office, position in any mainstream broadcast media, or seat in academia should tell you something about how little they actually matter in the grand scheme of things. They are so rare, in fact, that people have actually expanded the definitions for white supremacy and racism just to pump up the perceived numbers of people who subscribe to those views. They are, in reality, a non-problem. Comparing them to entities like antifa (entities with actual numbers, financial backing, and political influence) is like suggesting that an annoying case of jock itch is as life-threatening as cancer.<br /><br />So when people demand centrists to condemn Nazis or white nationalists (or whichever alt-right entity you don't like) in the same breath that they condemn antifa, I have to ask: why? Why would I bother adding a qualifier about a group that is completely irrelevant, except to signal to people that I'm not myself a member of them? If you're mistaking me for a white nationalist or something of the kind, that just makes you dumb. And the day I justify myself to dumb people is the day I wear a fucking tag on my toe.",
