I've rewritten some of The Last Jedi. Let me know what you think. It's a little long and not perfect but worth the read I believe. <br /><br />STAR WARS<br />THE LAST JEDI<br />(REWRITE)<br /><br />Kylo Ren’s motivation to destroy his helmet.<br /> <br />In this new scene Kylo has just finished his audience with the supreme leader. He returns to his chambers and immediately approaches the chard and shattered remains of Darth Vader’s helmet. He seeks guidance from his grandfather as he is confused about his loyalties.<br /><br />KYLO, “Grandfather… I’ve labored so hard to carry on your legacy. Give me guidance.”<br /><br />ANAKIN, “Is it guidance you seek? Or merely approval. In either case I cannot help you.”<br /><br />Kylo turns in surprise and sees Anakin Skywalker’s force ghost standing before him. He instinctively kneels before his perceived mentor but keeps his eyes firmly locked on him.<br /><br />KYLO, “Grandfather? I don't understand. I thought that by sacrificing my father it would bring me clarity and strength, but my thoughts and feelings are more conflicted than ever. If not in this manner, then how can I tap into the full power of the dark side as you did?”<br /><br />ANAKIN, “Kylo… my grandson, you already know in your heart what you must do. Nothing I say will change that. But I will warn you. The path you have chosen will only lead to suffering; for both you and the entire galaxy. You have been a fool to allow this Snoke to mold you into this monster you’ve become.”<br /><br />KYLO, “Monster? I only followed in your footsteps!” <br /><br />Then a look of inspiration crosses Kylo’s face, “But now I understand…. THAT was the foolish path. When I was a child I thought as a child, to be as powerful as the great Darth Vader. But now that I am a man… It is time to put childish fantasies aside.”<br /><br />ANAKIN, “Kylo, turn b…”<br /><br />Kylo disrespectfuly interrupts, “You chose your son over true power and could not finish what you started. You were weak…. pathetic! But I, your legacy, will not be!”<br /><br />Anakin shakes his head in disappointment. “Then it is as I suspected. You are truly lost.”<br /><br />Kylo turns away from the apparition, “Leave me old ghost! I have no more use for you!”<br /><br />When Kylo turns to face Anakin he is gone.<br /><br />Kylo grabs his helmet and leaves his chambers, clearly enraged.<br /><br />Cut to scene in the elevator where Kylo destroys his helmet. Never to idolise his grandfather again.<br /><br />A significant change to the space battle. <br /><br />When Kylo is about to fire on the bridge where his mother is he hesitates. But instead of two other ships coming in to finish the job for him, he gets a crazed and furious look on his face and yells to force himself to fire. Only afterwards does he let out an agonized scream as tears form in his eyes for a moment before he angrily brushes them away and resolutely continues his assault. <br />\f<br />STAR WARS<br />THE LAST JEDI<br />(REWRITE)<br /><br />When Luke finally talks to Rey on Ahch-to<br /><br />She enters the hut and the conversation can be as in movie except…<br /><br />Rey, “Han Solo is…”<br /><br />“Dead. I know. I saw it coming. ” Luke says sadly. <br /><br />Rey is shocked, “but if you knew then why didn't you…”<br /><br />Luke angrily cuts Rey off, “Don't you think I wanted to save him! But I couldn't go running off on some foolish quest to save just one man. There's so much more at stake here! An entire galaxy to be certain!”<br /><br />Rey replies calmly but with a tinge of disgust, “you were afraid… you couldn't face the monster that is Kylo Ren. You're a coward!”<br /><br />Rey turns to leave him but Luke grabs her arm firmly and turns her back to face him, “WRONG! I'M A JEDI! And that's why the Jedi must end! I WILL teach you the ways of the Jedi. Only then will you understand. ”<br /><br /><br />The Dark Force Cave on Ahch-To<br /><br />This is a simple rewrite to foreshadow Rey’s alliance to Kylo. <br /><br />Rey enters the cave as in the original scene right up to the point where the shadowy figures approach. But instead of it being just her, there stands before her a representation of her light side and her dark side. Her light side is in whites and pastels and has a glow about her while her dark side wares blacks and purples and strange makeup and is shrouded in darkness. <br /><br />The two stare at her for a moment and then walk forward and combine into one. But the dark side version of Rey is the one that remains. Rey stares in shock at the apparition and it starts to laugh at her. She screams and strikes the image shattering the glass. Cut to next scene.<br />\f<br />STAR WARS<br />THE LAST JEDI<br />(REWRITE)<br /><br />(Note: In this version Admiral Holdo does not ram the first order fleet at light speed. She stays behind while the escape pods leave and then her ship is destroyed.)<br /><br />Scene after Rey and Kylo team up to defeat Snokes Guards<br /><br />Hux enters the room and looks around in disbelief. When he spots Snoke’s dead body he draws his weapon and turns to Kylo and Rey. <br /><br />HUX (as he points his weapon at Kylo), “What happened here? I demand to know!”<br /><br />Kylo answers coldly and calmly,“There's been a change in command.”<br /><br />Hux screams as he fires at Kylo, “Traitor!”<br /><br />In one graceful motion Kylo lights the blue lightsaber, deflects the bolt, reaches his hand out and starts to choke Hux. A crazed look on his face. <br />Rey whispers, “Kylo. “ <br /><br />She shakes her head as he glances at her and his face softens as he looks back at Hux.<br /><br />KYLO, “The Supreme Leader is dead.”<br /><br />HUX gasping, “Long live the Supreme Leader. “<br /><br />Kylo releases Hux, “Return to the bridge while I deal with the girl.“<br /><br />Hux bows and stumbles out of the room. <br /><br />Kylo holds his hand out to Rey… asking her to join him. She shakes her head no. He turns angrily away and slams his hand on a panel. A holographic image appears between them that shows the drop ships being destroyed one by one and Finn about to be executed.<br /><br />KYLO, “It’s OVER Rey! Your friends have failed...the resistance is through. Join me and help create a balanced empire that will last a thousand millenia!”<br /><br />Rey looks in abject horror at the destruction of her allies and her friend’s impending death. Obviously conflicted, weighing her decision. <br /><br />KYLO, “There is no need for the conflict in you heart Rey. The choice is clear. Join me!”<br /><br />Kylo once again reaches out to Rey. His hand piercing the holographic image, making him appear godlike in stature. “Please.”<br /><br />Rey finally looks at Kylo. “Call off the attack.”<br /><br />KYLO, “No!”<br /><br />Tears start to form in Rey’s eyes. “PLEASE… Do not destroy them all. They are routed! You said it yourself, the Resistance is through! They cannot oppose the First Order any longer.”<br /><br />Kylo wavers, shaking his head and pulling his hand away.<br /><br />Rey moves forward, now ignoring the hologram and concentrating completely on Kylo.<br /><br />REY, “Call off the attack… spare my friends and I will join you.”<br /><br />Rey now reaches out, “Please”<br /><br />Kylo stares at her outreached hand. Then walks to the console and contacts General Hux. A miniature hologram appears. <br /><br />HUX smiles proudly, “Ah, my lord. The assault is going as planned. Soon these rebellious scum will be crushed and...”<br /><br />KYLO, “Stop firing. Let them go,”<br /><br />HUX (over monitor), “What?! But we have them in our grasp. They can’t escape!”<br /><br />KYLO, “I said STOP FIRING!”<br /><br />Hux is obviously perturbed and gives Rey a dirty look. “Yes... supreme leader”<br /><br />Kylo then contacts Phasma, “Stop the execution. Take them to the brigg.”<br /><br />Phasma replies in a slightly annoyed tone, “As you wish.”<br /><br />Phasma signals to stop the execution, “Take them away.”<br /><br />Rey shuts her eyes for a moment in relief as Finn is dragged out of the holograms field of view. Then looks to Kylo once more.<br /><br />Kylo immediately goes to Rey’s side and takes her hand forcefully. Only then does she take her eyes off him and turns back to the hologram. Making sure the ships are safe. <br /><br />KYLO, “See, you’re already having a good influence on me.”<br /><br />Kylo smiles but it never reaches his eyes. “Come, we have a lot of work ahead of us.”<br /><br />Kylo pulls Rey out of the room and she follows, somewhat defeated.<br /><br />Cut to a scene where the resistance is happy they aren’t all dead.<br /><br />Cut back to the main bridge of the lead First Order ship.<br /><br />Kylo and Rey enter the bridge and Kylo leaves Rey’s side to order the fleet to go into hyperspace to some planet (probably their main headquarters planet) Shin-Tar?<br /><br />(Just before they jump Kylo discreetly contacts Hux and orders him to stay behind and finish the job of destroying the resistance.)<br /><br />KYLO (Out loud), “General Hux, take charge of the Reliance star destroyer.” (Under his breath), “You will stay behind and finish the resistance once and for all.”<br /><br />HUX,(smiling) “With pleasure, Supreme Leader.”<br /><br />A shuttle transfers Hux to one of the star destroyers. Then all the First order ships jump to lightspeed except that one.<br />\f<br />STAR WARS<br />THE LAST JEDI<br />(REWRITE)<br /><br /><br />(Note: In this version the first order have already fired their battering ram weapon once but require a second firing to completely destroy the base. They are charging the weapon. There has not been a battle yet.)<br /><br />Crait Battle<br /><br /><br />This scene takes place just after the resistance sent the signal to the outer rim for help. <br /><br />No response from the allies and the security blast door is hit once, but not destroyed. There’s a small crack. It requires a second blast to be opened completely. <br /><br />Luke Skywalker arrives… in the flesh. Chewbacca is with him. He approaches Leia and she stands to meet him. He gives her a sympathetic look. She looks at him for a second and then slaps him in the face.<br /><br />Leia, “You knew… you knew and you did nothing.”<br /><br />Luke takes the slap and it seems that he’s about the say something, but the words don’t come. <br /><br />Leia sits and looks down. <br /><br />Luke comes to her and kisses her forehead.<br /><br />Leia looks up again and says wryly, “I know what you’re going say… I changed my hair.”<br /><br />Luke smiles, “It’s nice that way.” He then hands her Han’s real dice.<br /><br />He then gets up and the scene can continue as in the movie where he walks past all the rebels into the hole in the door and out into the open.<br /><br />Lieutenant Connix steps beside Poe and informs him that there are functional skimmers in the base as she watches Luke. <br /><br />“There are six ATAT’s out there... what's he doing?” Connix asks. <br /><br />Poe doesn't take his eyes off Luke and whispers, “He's taking a stand.”<br /><br />Poe then turns and raises his voice. “Luke Skywalker is taking a stand…. And we're going to stand with him.”<br /><br />He then starts giving orders as the resistance scramble to get organized for a fight. <br /><br />Cut to Leia as she looks on with pride. <br /><br />(Since Kylo Ren is not there Hux is in charge. )<br />In Hux’s shuttle they are observing the monitors and a tiny figure walks out of the hole in the blast door and a few meters out from the base. <br /><br />Hux, “Who is that man? Magnify.” <br /><br />A screen closes in on the form standing in front of the base. <br /><br />When Hux realizes Luke Skywalker has just strolled leisurely out of the rebel base he sees an opportunity to gain favor and stature within the Order.<br /><br />Hux smiles and says to himself, “Luke Skywalker.”<br /><br />Hux turns on a megaphone to address the Old Jedi Master, “Well well well… if it isn’t the legend himself come to save these poor hapless fools. As you can see, you are no match for the firepower we have at our disposal. The First Order is the ultimate power in the galaxy now. <br /><br />(Cut to) Luke face.<br /><br />Megaphone voice of Hux, “Your sad devotion to these pathetic rebels will not…”<br /> <br />Luke raises an eyebrow.<br /><br /> (Back to Hux’s ship) Hux starts to cough and choke on his words. He puts his hand to his throat. In a panicked voice he gasps, “Fire everything we have on that man!”<br /><br />The AT-AT’s open fire on Luke. <br /><br />Scene goes as in the movie. With Luke walking out after the barrage is finished. <br /><br />Hux, no longer choking, is stunned, “That's… not… possible... “<br /><br />He then bellows, “Send two battalions down and keep charging the weapon! I would prefer Luke Skywalker alive but execute him if you must.”<br /><br />Two of the ATAT’S kneel and large ground vehicles exit the bottom of them. Racing towards Luke as the ATATs stand up. That's when the rebels come screaming out of the base on their skimmers and fire the defense cannons. <br /><br />A pitched battle ensues and Chewbacca uses the Millennium falcon to lure the TIE Fighters away. But it is obvious that the resistance is no match for the First Order. They are outgunned and outmanned. <br /><br />Luke is surrounded but handling the first order stormtroopers easily. Then he notices that the ground beneath his feet is no longer red but blueish white... they are battling on a large frozen ocean. He quickly finishes off the enemies around him and tells Leia to call for a retreat. She does as he asks. Poe is reluctant but listens and obeys the orders. <br /><br />When Hux sees the Resistance retreat he sneers.<br /><br />Hux “Cowards. Push on and get that battering ram fully charged!”<br /><br />When all the skimmers have left Luke stands tall, closes his eyes and breathes in deeply as lasers blast all around him. *possibly in slow motion* All sound is muted except for Lukes breathing. He then bends down and touches the ice. <br /><br />Cut to Luke Skywalker’s face (closeup) eyes closed, breathing. The look on his face goes from relaxed to tense.<br /><br />A deep,echoed, unnerving creak causes the first order to halt their fire. The creaking continues as the pilots of the ATATs look at each other in confusion. <br /><br /> Cut to Hux, as he mashes the communicator in frustration, contacting the ATATs.<br /><br />Hux “What's going on down there? Why have you stopped firing?” <br /><br />ATAT Pilot “Hold on sir, something’s happening. ”<br /><br />There is a tremendous CRACK sound. An extremely large piece of ice jerks up underneath an ATAT; hitting it with such force it is jerked up and explodes, falling into the newly exposed water with a massive splash. All the other ATATS begin to stumble as the unstable ice beneath them begins to shatter. Hux’s eyes go wide as he sees the events happening beneath him. Soon all the ATATs and the battering ram are sinking down into the murky depths of Crait’s frozen ocean. Hux looks to the screen that is magnified on Luke. <br /><br />(Cut to)Luke opens his eyes, stands tall once again on the surface of Crait and grimaces at his handy work. He then looks up at Hux’s ship. <br /><br />(Cut back to Hux) Trying to restrain his horror, and never talking his eyes off the image of Luke Skywalker seemingly staring right into his soul through the monitor. Hux’s voice slightly cracks as he says, “Call a retreat. Get this ship back to my star destroyer.”<br /><br />We see a wide shot of Hux’s ship turning and fleeing the standing figure of Luke Skywalker; All the stray Tie-Fighters following behind as dramatic music plays. <br /><br />All is quiet and the camera is facing Luke standing tall. A slight wind blowing his cloak… once all the ships are out of view he drops to his knees and it is obvious that he is completely drained and exhausted as a cold sweat comes to his brow. <br /><br />(Cut to) Just outside the breach in the base door the resistance forces are celebrating the First Order retreat. Poe and Leia are standing there looking out at Luke. <br /><br />Poe, “ He did it. I don’t believe it. “<br /><br />Leia smiles, “We all did it. “<br /><br />Luke struggles to his feet and starts walking back toward the base; his steps slow and unsteady. Leia starts walking to meet him then stops short and looks toward Luke in horror.<br /><br />She whispers, “No.”<br /><br />(Cut to) The camera following a large crack traveling along the ice. The camera overtakes the crack and travels to where Luke is stumbling along. <br /><br />Luke senses the impending danger and looks back, his eyes widening in shock. He tries to pick up his pace but is too weakened to outrun what's coming. The ice cracks all around him. He stops and takes one last, reassuring look at Leia and then the ice underneath him disappears and he is plunged into the depths. <br /><br />There is a wide shot that shows Luke falling some thirty to forty feet into the water between a huge ice fissure. <br /><br />(Cut to)The camera follows his slow descent as he reaches futilely for the surface, ice crystals forming on his face. Descending further he fades away until all that is left is his cloak. Cut to the cloak breaking the surface of the icy water. <br /><br />(Cut to) Poe and Leia stare in abject horror at what had just transpired as the Millennium Falcon lands behind them. Tragic music plays. Poe has to steady Leia as she stumbles forward slightly and it looks as if she might faint. <br /><br /> There is no more celebration as the motley resistance survivors enter the ship sullenly. Leia takes one last sorrowful glance at the cracked ocean of Crait. She enters and the ship Flys off as the end music plays. <br /> <br />New added scene<br /><br />Transition to a dark cell. Someone is weeping quietly. The ambient light slowly rises and Rey is sitting curled up into a ball. She has her hand to her mouth trying to keep her crying quiet. <br />Suddenly the cell is bathed in light and Rey has to blink to adjust to the light ; her arm raised from her mouth to shade her eyes. Just as she starts to see, a voice (Kylo’s) asks in a cold, curious tone, “Why are you crying?”<br />There is a locking door sound and the blurry image of Kylo standing over her sharpens. <br /><br />“I'm afraid…. I'm afraid for my friends.. and.. and myself; what I'll become. ” Rey responds. <br /><br />Kylo leans in closely, menacingly. “Lies Rey…. Lies. We can't work together with so many lies. “<br />Rey doesn't respond. She just looks down despondently. Kylo stands. <br />There is a moment of silence between them, then Kylo breaks it by saying, “He's dead.”<br /><br />Rey looks up at him with utter hatred. But says nothing. Tears start streaming down her face. <br /><br />Kylo, “I felt it… the moment he passed. I know you did too.“<br /><br />Kylo beats his chest as he says, “And it pains me. “<br /><br />Rey explodes with rage, “What do you know of pain! Or love for that matter! They cannot oppose the First Order any longer.”\n\nKylo wavers, shaking his head and pulling his hand away.\n\nRey moves forward, now ignoring the hologram and concentrating completely on Kylo.\n\nREY, “Call off the attack… spare my friends and I will join you.”\n\nRey now reaches out, “Please”\n\nKylo stares at her outreached hand. Then walks to the console and contacts General Hux. A miniature hologram appears. \n\nHUX smiles proudly, “Ah, my lord. The assault is going as planned. Soon these rebellious scum will be crushed and...”\n\nKYLO, “Stop firing. Let them go,”\n\nHUX (over monitor), “What?! But we have them in our grasp. They can’t escape!”\n\nKYLO, “I said STOP FIRING!”\n\nHux is obviously perturbed and gives Rey a dirty look. “Yes... supreme leader”\n\nKylo then contacts Phasma, “Stop the execution. Take them to the brigg.”\n\nPhasma replies in a slightly annoyed tone, “As you wish.”\n\nPhasma signals to stop the execution, “Take them away.”\n\nRey shuts her eyes for a moment in relief as Finn is dragged out of the holograms field of view. Then looks to Kylo once more.\n\nKylo immediately goes to Rey’s side and takes her hand forcefully. Only then does she take her eyes off him and turns back to the hologram. Making sure the ships are safe. \n\nKYLO, “See, you’re already having a good influence on me.”\n\nKylo smiles but it never reaches his eyes. “Come, we have a lot of work ahead of us.”\n\nKylo pulls Rey out of the room and she follows, somewhat defeated.\n\nCut to a scene where the resistance is happy they aren’t all dead.\n\nCut back to the main bridge of the lead First Order ship.\n\nKylo and Rey enter the bridge and Kylo leaves Rey’s side to order the fleet to go into hyperspace to some planet (probably their main headquarters planet) Shin-Tar?\n\n(Just before they jump Kylo discreetly contacts Hux and orders him to stay behind and finish the job of destroying the resistance.)\n\nKYLO (Out loud), “General Hux, take charge of the Reliance star destroyer.” (Under his breath), “You will stay behind and finish the resistance once and for all.”\n\nHUX,(smiling) “With pleasure, Supreme Leader.”\n\nA shuttle transfers Hux to one of the star destroyers. Then all the First order ships jump to lightspeed except that one.\n\f\nSTAR WARS\nTHE LAST JEDI\n(REWRITE)\n\n\n(Note: In this version the first order have already fired their battering ram weapon once but require a second firing to completely destroy the base. They are charging the weapon. There has not been a battle yet.)\n\nCrait Battle\n\n\nThis scene takes place just after the resistance sent the signal to the outer rim for help. \n\nNo response from the allies and the security blast door is hit once, but not destroyed. There’s a small crack. It requires a second blast to be opened completely. \n\nLuke Skywalker arrives… in the flesh. Chewbacca is with him. He approaches Leia and she stands to meet him. He gives her a sympathetic look. She looks at him for a second and then slaps him in the face.\n\nLeia, “You knew… you knew and you did nothing.”\n\nLuke takes the slap and it seems that he’s about the say something, but the words don’t come. \n\nLeia sits and looks down. \n\nLuke comes to her and kisses her forehead.\n\nLeia looks up again and says wryly, “I know what you’re going say… I changed my hair.”\n\nLuke smiles, “It’s nice that way.” He then hands her Han’s real dice.\n\nHe then gets up and the scene can continue as in the movie where he walks past all the rebels into the hole in the door and out into the open.\n\nLieutenant Connix steps beside Poe and informs him that there are functional skimmers in the base as she watches Luke. \n\n“There are six ATAT’s out there... what's he doing?” Connix asks. \n\nPoe doesn't take his eyes off Luke and whispers, “He's taking a stand.”\n\nPoe then turns and raises his voice. “Luke Skywalker is taking a stand…. And we're going to stand with him.”\n\nHe then starts giving orders as the resistance scramble to get organized for a fight. \n\nCut to Leia as she looks on with pride. \n\n(Since Kylo Ren is not there Hux is in charge. )\nIn Hux’s shuttle they are observing the monitors and a tiny figure walks out of the hole in the blast door and a few meters out from the base. \n\nHux, “Who is that man? Magnify.” \n\nA screen closes in on the form standing in front of the base. \n\nWhen Hux realizes Luke Skywalker has just strolled leisurely out of the rebel base he sees an opportunity to gain favor and stature within the Order.\n\nHux smiles and says to himself, “Luke Skywalker.”\n\nHux turns on a megaphone to address the Old Jedi Master, “Well well well… if it isn’t the legend himself come to save these poor hapless fools. As you can see, you are no match for the firepower we have at our disposal. The First Order is the ultimate power in the galaxy now. \n\n(Cut to) Luke face.\n\nMegaphone voice of Hux, “Your sad devotion to these pathetic rebels will not…”\n \nLuke raises an eyebrow.\n\n (Back to Hux’s ship) Hux starts to cough and choke on his words. He puts his hand to his throat. In a panicked voice he gasps, “Fire everything we have on that man!”\n\nThe AT-AT’s open fire on Luke. \n\nScene goes as in the movie. With Luke walking out after the barrage is finished. \n\nHux, no longer choking, is stunned, “That's… not… possible... “\n\nHe then bellows, “Send two battalions down and keep charging the weapon! I would prefer Luke Skywalker alive but execute him if you must.”\n\nTwo of the ATAT’S kneel and large ground vehicles exit the bottom of them. Racing towards Luke as the ATATs stand up. That's when the rebels come screaming out of the base on their skimmers and fire the defense cannons. \n\nA pitched battle ensues and Chewbacca uses the Millennium falcon to lure the TIE Fighters away. But it is obvious that the resistance is no match for the First Order. They are outgunned and outmanned. \n\nLuke is surrounded but handling the first order stormtroopers easily. Then he notices that the ground beneath his feet is no longer red but blueish white... they are battling on a large frozen ocean. He quickly finishes off the enemies around him and tells Leia to call for a retreat. She does as he asks. Poe is reluctant but listens and obeys the orders. \n\nWhen Hux sees the Resistance retreat he sneers.\n\nHux “Cowards. Push on and get that battering ram fully charged!”\n\nWhen all the skimmers have left Luke stands tall, closes his eyes and breathes in deeply as lasers blast all around him. *possibly in slow motion* All sound is muted except for Lukes breathing. He then bends down and touches the ice. \n\nCut to Luke Skywalker’s face (closeup) eyes closed, breathing. The look on his face goes from relaxed to tense.\n\nA deep,echoed, unnerving creak causes the first order to halt their fire. The creaking continues as the pilots of the ATATs look at each other in confusion. \n\n Cut to Hux, as he mashes the communicator in frustration, contacting the ATATs.\n\nHux “What's going on down there? Why have you stopped firing?” \n\nATAT Pilot “Hold on sir, something’s happening. ”\n\nThere is a tremendous CRACK sound. An extremely large piece of ice jerks up underneath an ATAT; hitting it with such force it is jerked up and explodes, falling into the newly exposed water with a massive splash. All the other ATATS begin to stumble as the unstable ice beneath them begins to shatter. Hux’s eyes go wide as he sees the events happening beneath him. Soon all the ATATs and the battering ram are sinking down into the murky depths of Crait’s frozen ocean. Hux looks to the screen that is magnified on Luke. \n\n(Cut to)Luke opens his eyes, stands tall once again on the surface of Crait and grimaces at his handy work. He then looks up at Hux’s ship. \n\n(Cut back to Hux) Trying to restrain his horror, and never talking his eyes off the image of Luke Skywalker seemingly staring right into his soul through the monitor. Hux’s voice slightly cracks as he says, “Call a retreat. Get this ship back to my star destroyer.”\n\nWe see a wide shot of Hux’s ship turning and fleeing the standing figure of Luke Skywalker; All the stray Tie-Fighters following behind as dramatic music plays. \n\nAll is quiet and the camera is facing Luke standing tall. A slight wind blowing his cloak… once all the ships are out of view he drops to his knees and it is obvious that he is completely drained and exhausted as a cold sweat comes to his brow. \n\n(Cut to) Just outside the breach in the base door the resistance forces are celebrating the First Order retreat. Poe and Leia are standing there looking out at Luke. \n\nPoe, “ He did it. I don’t believe it. “\n\nLeia smiles, “We all did it. “\n\nLuke struggles to his feet and starts walking back toward the base; his steps slow and unsteady. Leia starts walking to meet him then stops short and looks toward Luke in horror.\n\nShe whispers, “No.”\n\n(Cut to) The camera following a large crack traveling along the ice. The camera overtakes the crack and travels to where Luke is stumbling along. \n\nLuke senses the impending danger and looks back, his eyes widening in shock. He tries to pick up his pace but is too weakened to outrun what's coming. The ice cracks all around him. He stops and takes one last, reassuring look at Leia and then the ice underneath him disappears and he is plunged into the depths. \n\nThere is a wide shot that shows Luke falling some thirty to forty feet into the water between a huge ice fissure. \n\n(Cut to)The camera follows his slow descent as he reaches futilely for the surface, ice crystals forming on his face. Descending further he fades away until all that is left is his cloak. Cut to the cloak breaking the surface of the icy water. \n\n(Cut to) Poe and Leia stare in abject horror at what had just transpired as the Millennium Falcon lands behind them. Tragic music plays. Poe has to steady Leia as she stumbles forward slightly and it looks as if she might faint. \n\n There is no more celebration as the motley resistance survivors enter the ship sullenly. Leia takes one last sorrowful glance at the cracked ocean of Crait. She enters and the ship Flys off as the end music plays. \n \nNew added scene\n\nTransition to a dark cell. Someone is weeping quietly. The ambient light slowly rises and Rey is sitting curled up into a ball. She has her hand to her mouth trying to keep her crying quiet. \nSuddenly the cell is bathed in light and Rey has to blink to adjust to the light ; her arm raised from her mouth to shade her eyes. Just as she starts to see, a voice (Kylo’s) asks in a cold, curious tone, “Why are you crying?”\nThere is a locking door sound and the blurry image of Kylo standing over her sharpens. \n\n“I'm afraid…. I'm afraid for my friends.. and.. and myself; what I'll become. ” Rey responds. \n\nKylo leans in closely, menacingly. “Lies Rey…. Lies. We can't work together with so many lies. “\nRey doesn't respond. She just looks down despondently. Kylo stands. \nThere is a moment of silence between them, then Kylo breaks it by saying, “He's dead.”\n\nRey looks up at him with utter hatred. But says nothing. Tears start streaming down her face. \n\nKylo, “I felt it… the moment he passed. I know you did too.“\n\nKylo beats his chest as he says, “And it pains me. “\n\nRey explodes with rage, “What do you know of pain! Or love for that matter! You killed your own father!” She looks away from Kylo again and says bitterly but calmly, “You are nothing but a heartless monster.”\n\nThis could possibly be the spot where Kylo brings up the facts
