While I have enjoyed my time here after the shutdown of Newsvine, my search for a place where I could engage in longer term discussions and find my way back to those discussions had led me all over the blogosphere and left me wondering if I'll ever find anything like what we had at NV (despite its faults). I've tried many places including most recently MeWe and I have finally come to conclude that the new improved NewsTalkers appears to be the best option, at least for my preferred style of discourse; more detailed, more researched, longer format and preferably less discussion-killing political animus (although it is really tough to escape that unless you are into echo-chambers, which I am most decidedly NOT). I just think NT, at least for now, is a better fit if you agree with my preferred style. <br /><br />You may recall my friend TiG from NV. He has been working closely with Perrie at NT to improve the UX and together they have done a great job! Her dishonest tactics stuck out to me like a sore thumb and I was hoping that other real journalists would finally have the courage to speak up about it as well rather than painting Cathy as the “victim” here. Some might say that Dr. Peterson destroyed her in this interview, but it is plain to me that she destroyed herself and her reputation in the eyes of any self-respecting free-thinking journalist.<br /><br />We see this sort of thing from so many popular so-called “journalists” these days that it has become commonplace. I like to think that other people can see it like I do, and certainly like people much smarter than me, such as Dr. Peterson do. But another part of me fears that perhaps many do not see it, or worse don’t want to see it.
