Social media has become a mainstream for knowledge sharing and has helped us to understand its importance. Thus, Knowledge coordination has been seen by the majority as the key to a successful business. As the share and the value of knowledge coordination increases, legal and ethical issues arise such as privacy, confidentiality, plagiarism, ownership, and intellectual property. The conflict between the rights of the individual and that of the organization creates ethical dilemmas for executive managers and knowledge workers.<br /><br />The need for a renewed moral contract between individuals and organisations is more demanding than ever. This contract should be built on ethical constructs of trust, fairness, and justice. And each message emits a few ounces of CO2 because it travels many kilometres across the planet. Sending a single e-mail is therefore equivalent to leaving a light bulb on for 24 hours. For a company with 100 employees in a year, knowing that an employee receives an average of 58 emails per day and sends 33, this pollutes as much as 14 return trips from Paris to New York.<br /><br />According to an English study, 15% of messages sent at work could be avoided: those to acknowledge receipt, those to wish a good weekend and in first place thank-you emails, especially if they are sent to a person close to you, whom you can simply address verbally. Some companies have decided to take action against unnecessary e-mails.<br /><br />Of course, you can't ask the whole world to reduce or even stop sending emails overnight. Email is a fantastic tool, as is the internet, and the world needs it. <br /><br />But you can do your bit to limit the energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions that result from this daily use.<br /><br />-Try to reduce unnecessary emails as much as possible, as well as unnecessarily copying managers or colleagues.<br /><br />-Install anti-spam software/spam filters or limit spam by unsubscribing to newsletters that do not interest you.<br /><br />-Regularly empty your mailbox and spam box.
