A simulation is *not* the real thing. AI does not \"think\". The only thing these LLM's (large language model) do is looking up matching patterns in the billions of lines with which it has been trained. <br /><br />Up to today, no faculty of science has been able to describe what exactly \"consciousness\" is. So the scientific work in this area settled around simulating it in order to get a better grasp of the nature of it. Joseph Weizenbaum created the famous ELIZA program back in 1966. Compared to ELIZE we have come a long way since. But in regards to real \"intelligence\" we're not even out of the baby steps. Perhaps you have heard of \"Evolution 2.0\". This challenge is now out for almost 20 years. It wanted me to update 398 packages. I usually update daily, so such massive updates are rare. But they do happen. What I was surprised about was that about one third of the packages were python packages.<br /><br />I gathered a few statistics:<br /><br />Total installed packages: 1878<br />python packages: 98<br />python packages in the upgrade: 98<br /><br />So, python was upgraded to version 3.13.1 this caused *all* python packages to be upgraded too. And that with an interpreted language !! Apparently python is not \"batteries included\" as they claim.
