The fact that you think the system is corrupt, doesn't matter. Politicians still determine policies and laws.<br /><br />Do you want it to change, or do you just want to sit and whine about it?<br /><br />Instead of putting yourself out there and making your mark, you hide away in anonymous accounts on social media, making accusations toward some mysterious cabal of corrupt decision makers.<br /><br />Sure, you are giving voice to your displeasure, and rightfully so. But you are not doing it in a way that inspires change. You are setting yourself up for failure by taking on the persona of an anonymous troll. Instead, try taking on the public role of a worried, free-spirited and socially engaged citizen. You will see that changing the system is actually achievable, if only you were to sign your name under your claims.<br /><br />Anonymous accounts on the internet have a place. They are the voices of the unconscious spirit of humanity. But making a change is a conscious manifestation. You will not get anywhere by being an angry ghost in a virtual no-man's land.<br /><br />Speak your mind as truthfully as you can, and sign that with your name. That will be your salvation.<br /><br />P.S. - Try not to simply fling insults and accusations when participating in the public conversation. You reap what you sow.",

"content": "People who do their own research - A reaction<br /><br />My peers and I are often critiqued for blindly listening to the publications of big institutions. For example when it comes to medical knowledge, I tend to look at the expertise of the CDC or the ECDC. When it comes to astronomy, I'm going to look at NASA or the ESRO. When it comes to knowledge about nuclear energy, I will probably take my cues from CERN.<br /><br />So don't I just do my own research instead of putting all of my trust in some large organization? The reason is simple - I have a day job.<br /><br />I just don't have the time, money, materials or expertise to do large scale experiments or surveys. I will freely admit, if there are groups of people who have made a career out of doing specific types of research, I will look at the results of the research and base my decisions on what comes out.<br /><br />When it comes to doing my own medical research, I have no intention of filling my house with petri dishes, blood shakers, microscopes, DNA sequencers and various biomedical substances. If you want me to, I will refuse. If you donate money to me for expressly that purpose, I will decline and send back the money. It will take my entire lifetime to confirm a tiny part of the entire medical research history. It will be a complete and utter waste. There are tens of thousands of people who are medical experts and I am certainly not one of them, so doing my own research is just not feasible.<br /><br />If you want to do your own research, that's good for you. Get your PhD, run your tests and report the results after peer review. I will be here happily waiting for what you find out.",

Corruption happens on all layers of humanity, but the most immediate way to fight corruption is to fight the corruptions of your own perspective. Keep questioning until you find answers that you can use to make your speech sharper, more accurate, more eloquent and more lucid. "content": "Do you remember the Tumblr concept of Otherkin? I do, and today I realized why this concept was created. And it has to do with the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche.<br /><br />In a desperate bid to pass the time during this Corona-related lockdown, I was watching an old podcast video discussing otherkin (<a href=\"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azC1nm85btY\" target=\"_blank\">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azC1nm85btY</a>). The podcast featured Milo Yiannopolis as a guest. The Breitbart journalist Milo Yiannopolis used to be a very popular spokesperson of the alternative culture of the moderate libertarian/classic liberal side of the internet. I personally remember his presence quite well.<br /><br />Milo Yiannopolis compared the otherkin concept to some sort of religion, but I don't think he realized how correct he was. He believes that the otherkin idea was a proposed alternative to Christian religion. A number of people grew attached to the idea of otherkin and adopted it as their new mode of being. I have a new theory as to why that is.<br /><br />I will now try to tie that back to an old quote by Friedrich Nietzsche, a well known existentialist philosopher. Back in his day, he said the following:<br /><br />\"God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him. How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers? What was holiest and mightiest of all that the world has yet owned has bled to death under our knives: who will wipe this blood off us? What water is there for us to clean ourselves? What festivals of atonement, what sacred games shall we have to invent? Is not the greatness of this deed too great for us? Must we ourselves not become gods simply to appear worthy of it?\"<br />— Nietzsche, The Gay Science, Section 125<br /><br />What does this mean, really? It means that we will have to basically invent our own moral system by which we can live. In fact, we would have to develop our own moral ideal and in that way we would have to adopt the role of the judging god. Out of whole cloth, we would have to invent a completely new standard for a system of values, appoint new saints, develop new sacred rituals and adhere to a new mode of being that we can judge our own value by, at least when compared to others.<br /><br />The way in which this relates to otherkin, is that the concept of otherkin is an attempt to replace the Christian religion with an equally nonsensical system of assumptions and figments of the imagination. It might even be a variant of animal worship, which has already been demonstrated as a cultural phenomenon in rudimentary religious systems worldwide.<br /><br />The development of \"otherkin\" as a new internet phenomenon might seem laughable to a bystander looking at it. But as a development of internet culture, it might be a desperate outcry from the lack of cultural cohesion and an attempt to develop a new system of ritualistic imagination. In fact, it might even be the first of its kind - The first attempt ever on a globally connected system to develop something like a rudimentary religion based on animal worship.<br /><br />This is why the concept of otherkin is more sad than laughable. Young people in Western regions are so disconnected, so desperate for cohesion and meaning in their lives, after the cultural downfall of Christian religion, that they would willingly adopt something as basic as animal worship just to a replacing system of values.<br /><br />This is a lot like what Nietzsche meant to say with this particular quote. Human beings behave according to a system of values in order to determine the next course of action and people who lack a system of values will need to either generate one, be in the process of generating one or forever wallow in never-ending aimlessness.<br /><br />I welcome thoughts and comments.",

"content": "Let me make a point about why it's worth remembering Gamergate - And why large scale news reporting should change.<br /><br />I will even say that it's important to remember the way in which the media has behaved during Gamergate. Mass media channels have portrayed the events of Gamergate in a radically different way than what has been understood by its actual participants. I really don't believe that media channels consciously conspired and spread lies about the events, but a lot of blatant untruths and anti-gamer slander have reached the general public regardless.<br /><br />To this day, gamers are mistakenly seen as some kind of cave trolls, or some other kind of filthy sub-human. If you came out saying that you like to play some videogames, you immediately fall down the social ladder. That is because the \"gamer\" identity has been smeared to such an extreme extent by the press. The anti-gamer press during Gamergate has contributed an actual landslide of bad publicity to the current state of affairs.<br /><br />As such, Gamergate is a prime example of media mistruths influencing and reaching the general public. Spreading misinformation in large quantities changes the culture, and changing the culture affects the way in which democratic policy develops. Faulty news coverage unhinges the entire culture and corrupts society. It needs to be stopped immediately and with complete seriousness.<br /><br />Knowing this, why would anyone still trust the mainstream media? While I am desperately trying to avoid conspiracy theories, the mistruths in large-scale media channels have been widely documented and very hard to deny. The extremely poor quality of news coverage from large channels is well known without conspiracy theory ever being involved.<br /><br />I personally blame professional conspiracy theorists for absolutely crashing and burning the credulity of honest whistleblowers about mainstream media reliability. Insipid claims made by crazed morons drown out the valid alarms about the devastating cultural effects of media untruths.<br /><br />In short - Large scale press publications have demonstrated themselves to be completely, utterly and catastrophically incompetent.<br /><br />If you have been even slightly awake during Gamergate, then you will know why the media coverage of Gamergate is the best example of the abominable state of affairs in the mainstream media. The quality of mainstream media fact checking is absolutely horrendous. Not only that, it is also the case that a lot of media outlets pride themselves on their bias. Let me repeat that for clarity's sake; Media channels are politically biased, they know it, and they are completely unapologetic about it. "content": "By becoming a politician, I have instantly made myself into a target. As a politician, I get a lot of hatred and scorn from people. I made that choice knowing that very well and I don't regret it. <br /><br />But I am the son of a carpenter and a nurse, so my financial position is not great. I absolutely do not have the support of some political oligarchy. So please don't pretend as if I have some infinite wellspring of money and publicity. Instead, I have decided to give out my name publically so I could represent the unrepresented, using the very humble income of my day job in IT. I am also trying to save up for buying my first car, so I can't spend that much on political publicify.<br /><br />You can spit in my face for putting my efforts in politics. That's fine. Even if you insult and berate me, I need to make sure there is someone who represents the people who have lost faith in the current political system. I believe that I can change the democratic system for the better. I am a social democrat with a sincere love for freedom of speech, and a severe distaste for large, centralized government. I want to replace the current systems of distant bureaucratic tyrannies, by a well-structured system based primarily on individual choice, freedom and self-determination.<br /><br />The real problem is as follows; People will not vote for me. The kind of people who believe what I believe, don't go out to vote. The people I really want to reach are the people who no longer vote and have instead placed themselves firmly on the barricades. I don't blame them, I really don't. I was right there with them at some point. It's a rational response. But now I have given out my name and my life publically so I could one day represent those who are dispossessed and cast out by the system.<br /><br />So if you have given up on the big machine of government, please do not abandon the system of voting and political representation. Please join me in an experiment; What would happen if everyone who opposes the current governmental system, actually goes out to vote? Would the system change?
