If this does not happen, then war will come. It will be a 4th Generation War, not of the type described by Linde and Thiele, in which a relatively benevolent state confidently takes on non-state forces, but one in which opposing non-state forces fight a bloody, vindictive, guerrilla war of skirmishing, lies, sabotage, and terrorism.<br /><br />The cause of this has been known for a long time. A cohesive country requires its citizens to understand each other, and we have been complicit in creating and accepting false narratives about other Americans that confirm our own biases. It is more comfortable, and there appears to be no cost, because to most of us, war in our own country felt like an impossibility.<br /><br />It isn't.<br /><br />Buy the book and spread the word.
