"content": "Believe it or not there is a philosophy out there that tries to argue that consciousness doesn't exist. It's called 'illusionism'. Yes I'm serious, and it is actually considered a respectable ontological viewpoint in academia. This is the state of modern thinking right now🤦🏽♂️. Thank God for someone like Bernado Kastrup who is using his own precoius time to painfully elucidate the stark irrationality and downright insanity of this position to those who are actually arguing for it with a straight face.<br /><br />This is a very academic read but an important one reflecting the insanity of our current state of philosophy in the west. I do believe Bernado Kastrup's voice will ultimately turn out to be one of the most pivotal influences as science embarks on its current transition from a physicalist to a more consciousness based worldview.<br /><br />\"It remains my position that illusionism is the most ludicrous and self-defeating view conceivable. Nothing in the history of human thought is, or can be, more preposterous than it.
