featuring public #BDSM, and the like, especially when there’s children visible in the clip, I’m like “surely the next one in my feed won’t be worse than the last one”, but the next one *is* worse than the last one

I could honestly imagine a load of #kinksters, for example, travelling to my ideal country to take part in a pride parade, and being rather disappointed that they can only do their thing in private, and the ones who do go out in public getting arrested for it (shock horror, my ideal country would enforce its #indecency laws), under offences like Indecent Exposure or “Offending Public Decency”, or if they decided to get the whips out in public (even if whoever was being whipped was fully clothed), under an offence like assault

Perhaps they wouldn’t like it, but it’d honestly be a load better to have that kind of thing in private, where it should be, along with every other act that’s even somewhat sexual, and for them not to have prison sentences or up to like 2 years (indecent exposure), 5 years (offending public decency) or 3 years in the case of assault, not to mention sentences for other crimes, and potentially an entry in the sex offenders’ register and expulsion from the country due a felony conviction (potentially for life). I’m guessing with the kind of temperatures my ideal country would experience all year round (especially the coasts), they wouldn’t want that.

But that’s what they’d get for indecency in public, and it wouldn’t be like they wouldn’t be warned about it, especially when even the bigger #prideparades would probably have notices on their websites saying that BDSM in public is illegal and if you do it in public, you could be arrested for it, and put through the courts, and potentially sent to prison if found guilty by a jury

“Oh, but we want to perform it”, they might say, and for that there’d be 18+ only zones to do it in, with them being screened off so no-one can see inside them, and IDs being checked at the entrance to it (that’s fair, right?). I could imagine some of them calling it “hardline”, but I honestly don’t see anything that’s “hardline” in keeping that kind of thing off the streets, even at a pride parade. If it’s supposed to be a “family friendly event”, then maybe the activities at it should be kept that way

Oh, and don’t even think about taking a kid to a drag or burlesque show in my ideal country. Even the more left-wing Counties (which would be pretty much identical to US States, just with a Parliamentary Republican from of government), the authorities would be having none of it, and would charge anyone who brings kids to one with various offences, like child neglect, child abuse, or another offence similar to them. Might sound tough, but in my mind, it’s completely fair to expect that children are only exposed to things that are appropriate for them, which from the clips I’ve seen, far too many drag and burlesque shows are far from that

And it’s not like consensual kink and BDSM when done in private would be illegal. They’d be legal within certain limits, along with drag and burlesque shows

But really, if you’re a kinkster, would you want to appear on one of my ideal country’s cop shows, when you’re being escorted to the cells at the custody suite for something like offending public decency? Don’t be surprised if the custody sergeant proudly calls the overflow section of his custody suite’s cell block “the kinksters’ section”, if that’s where so many are locked up after arrest, and it’s really only used to hold kinksters who’ve been arrested at pride. I’m guessing with the kind of temperatures my ideal country would experience all year round (especially the coasts), they wouldn’t want that.\n\n But that’s what they’d get for indecency in public, and it wouldn’t be like they wouldn’t be warned about it, especially when even the bigger #prideparades would probably have notices on their websites saying that BDSM in public is illegal and if you do it in public, you could be arrested for it, and put through the courts, and potentially sent to prison if found guilty by a jury\n\n“Oh, but we want to perform it”, they might say, and for that there’d be 18+ only zones to do it in, with them being screened off so no-one can see inside them, and IDs being checked at the entrance to it (that’s fair, right?). I could imagine some of them calling it “hardline”, but I honestly don’t see anything that’s “hardline” in keeping that kind of thing off the streets, even at a pride parade. If it’s supposed to be a “family friendly event”, then maybe the activities at it should be kept that way\n\nOh, and don’t even think about taking a kid to a drag or burlesque show in my ideal country. Even the more left-wing Counties (which would be pretty much identical to US States, just with a Parliamentary Republican from of government), the authorities would be having none of it, and would charge anyone who brings kids to one with various offences, like child neglect, child abuse, or another offence similar to them. Might sound tough, but in my mind, it’s completely fair to expect that children are only exposed to things that are appropriate for them, which from the clips I’ve seen, far too many drag and burlesque shows are far from that\n\nAnd it’s not like consensual kink and BDSM when done in private would be illegal. They’d be legal within certain limits, along with drag and burlesque shows\n\nBut really, if you’re a kinkster, would you want to appear on one of my ideal country’s cop shows, when you’re being escorted to the cells at the custody suite for something like offending public decency? Don’t be surprised if the custody sergeant proudly calls the overflow section of his custody suite’s cell block “the kinksters’ section”, if that’s where so many are locked up after arrest, and it’s really only used to hold kinksters who’ve been arrested at pride.
