Apparently, The government is (are) our god(s) and it is the only one who can take care of literally anything; roads, schools, libraries, these cannot be provided without our god government. Never mind the obvious exceptions that exist, we the poor must except what our gods give us, for there is no way to live without them. Unless you're rich, in which case you rule over the petty people who haven't amassed great wealth. <br /><br />Upon stating that I thought that this was a poor argument to base their worldview on, I was branded a heretic, and was told that all things I said were lies of the nonbeliever. They could not burn me, unfortunately, for the power of their gods was not with them this day, but they swore that their almighty god government would smite me for my blasphemies, saying such horrid things as we don't need taxes to take care of our every need, that sometimes it's better to provide for communal needs without the government, but their ears did bleed upon hearing my words, and they cursed me more for spreading what they called my false doctrine, for having the galling Evil within my heart to say that the government isn't the answer to every problem.<br /><br />Perhaps their gods will come for me.
