"content": "<br />Sources of toxic communitys and fandoms.<br /><br />Been hering lots about toxic fandoms and comunitys, and as somone who tends to not dive into this stuff, and been around to observe the rise and fall of some comunitys, this is my hypothesis on the matter.<br /><br />Fist off, there are two larger groups that toxic people can come from. The insiders, and the outsuoutsiders. The problem with insiders is a lack of boundarys, so deep into whatever their into, they forget common human decency. As for the outsiders, its a lack of respect, as their reson to be there often has little to do with the comunity or fandom.<br /><br />Lets start with the insiders, as their the source of many jokes, and horor storys.<br /><br />-the elites, purists, and zellots- basicly people who unironicly see themselves as the superior ones. Be it by inelagance, welth, devotion, or as it become populer, morally. The danger they pose is the power trips they are prone to have, justifying harassment, and witch hunting. They also tend to have a few skeletons in there closet.<br /><br />-the obsessed- so deep into there thing, if they are bot mentaly ill, they will look the part. Now every gets obsessive now and then, but it passes, but thees people are stuck in yhis staye. The problems they cause is by making anywhere their at uncomfortable to most people; from poor higean, too acting like an exited autistic kid. Worse is when they loos their grip on reality, which can lead them to commit crimes for the stupidest reasons.<br /><br />-the fetishists- for evey good idea, there will be somone who wants to put a dick on it, and gang bang it. These are the people who, when aloud to do as they pleas, will walk around naked. And this is of the more tame fetish. Yhe big danger here is the introduction dangrous people, whom when in a space to act out their darker fetishes, will. The worst being pedophiles.<br /><br /><br />Now moving onto the outsiders, this is a group that dose not garner the attenion it deserves, as the insiders are a souse of embaresment, the outsiders can an will kill a fandom, and or a comunity.<br /><br />-trenders- simply put, there only around because they like what is popular. They only have a surfaces level intrest, often only knowing as much as is mainstreen. The danger they pose is that they are easaly manipulated by other popular partys, or whom ever is given more exposure. They can easaly be turnd on other membets of a comunity or fanom. Another problem is that they can inflat numbets that represent the group, dispight not activly being intrested in things othere then t-shirts.<br /><br />-the crusaders, the athoritarans- less wanting to be a part of the conunity, or fandom, and more wanting to change it to what they see as better. Following the trenders, theas people tend to be verry opinionated, and thin skined. The danger they pose has come to light over the last few years, from one scadle to the next, as they will do whatever it takes to push people the dissaprove of out. Ones with little power will falsely accuse other of misdeeds, but the ones in power, they rub sholders with other powerful people in the comunity/fandom, convincing them to see things there way, and going after dissaproved people.<br /><br />-the oppertunistic, and conartist- where theres a lot of people, theres money to be made. This is where the turm “fake gamer girl” was coind as the popularty of gaming grew, so did the amount of young women using their sexualy the gain popularity and money, only to abandon it all when a better deal poped up. At its worst, some people pretended to be part of the community, or fandom just to attack it, convinsung many people to just give them money in which to defend thenselves with. In their quest for short turm gain, they damaged the comunity, or fandom, of which may take years to repair, that or see it suffer a slow death.<br /><br /><br />Therw peobably more to go on, more detale to do, but i’ll end it on this last note, none of these are exlusive of each other.
