It puzzles me there's not more articulate discussion, especially since science-minded people know full well there are no absolute certainties, only reproduceable evidentiary trends.

So I write this as an overall advocate of inoculation, even though I am one of the few who has adverse or cancelling effects with them.

I am not going to cite as I go; if challenged I will provide DOIs or equivalent.

Truth #1: Yes, Adverse Effects Happen

Immune systems are twitchy things. Premature babies are more likely to have incomplete immunity processing for age, as are babies not breastfed, as are babies brought up in certain environments or born to mothers of a certain health.

This is not an argument to stop vaccinating. Knowing I am one of those people who react badly to vaccinations, I spaced my son's out -- in case it was genetic -- better safe. He had no ill effects.

Truth #2: Vaccination is Not 100% Effective

I do not retain Varicella antibodies.

I also do not contract Chicken Pox or any variant of herpes.

For whatever reason, back in my genetic history, we developed a natural resistance to this virus. "content": "[Vaccinating] Why the Grain of Truth is Not Worth Endangering Millions\n\nVaccine debates, at least on the Internet, are polarized black and white. It puzzles me there's not more articulate discussion, especially since science-minded people know full well there are no absolute certainties, only reproduceable evidentiary trends.\n\nSo I write this as an overall advocate of inoculation, even though I am one of the few who has adverse or cancelling effects with them.\n\nI am not going to cite as I go; if challenged I will provide DOIs or equivalent.\n\nTruth #1: Yes, Adverse Effects Happen\n\nImmune systems are twitchy things. Premature babies are more likely to have incomplete immunity processing for age, as are babies not breastfed, as are babies brought up in certain environments or born to mothers of a certain health.\n\nThis is not an argument to stop vaccinating.
