until middle school that I figure out I have to fix shit<br />>1st year of highschool<br />>Gotten over suicidal thoughts, an existential crisis and now forced myself to grow up<br />>Mental age now on par with people my age<br />>I own up to my mistakes<br />>people immediately start hating me less<br />>I start to generate friend groups, make connections and gain a positive reputation<br />>Work really hard to be normal while still maintaining my individual quirks that give me an edge<br />>Things are going really well<br />>Get to the point where people have stopped paying attention to me most of the time, I can pretty easily blend into the background<br />>I still stand out from time to time as someone that can discuss anything and is open to listening to any idea or issue<br />>Start spending more time socializing<br />>Start getting more or less decent at recognizing body language, social ques and behavioural patterns<br />>Start looking into science more and more, also start getting into politics<br />>Make a name for myself for having an extremely rounded body of knowledge compared to my peers<br />>Most peers have specializations, I can talk with most of them about whatever topic<br />>Social justice topics broached from time to time, I take special care to deal with these as nicely as possible so people actually hear the points<br />>Graduation hits<br />>Some classmates come up to me, talk about how they know almost nothing about me and that there's a bunch of rumours going around<br />>Something about me being fascist, others about me being a commie<br />>Tell them I'm a libertarian and that I'm down to talk any time<br />>Spend grad talking to people and getting shitfaced with friends<br />>Out of school now, don't know what I want to do<br />>Go into sales because fuck it, I need to get better at talking to people.<br />>Get really good at selling, get hired to train people on how to sell<br />>Get back onto social media after blacking out for a bit<br />>See the usual anti-vaxxers<br />>Claiming vaccines cause autism<br />>My face when<br />>Tell them it doesn't<br />>One faggot claims I don't have real autism because I'm an aspie<br />>Brings up the overdiagnosis<br />>Says it's \"just personality traits\"<br />>Switch flipped<br />>My face when 2.0<br />>Engage tardrage<br />>Call him out for his shitty arguments<br />>Point out every flawed point<br />>Call out the no true scotsman<br />>Insult his educatiion<br />>Belittle his intelligence (guy called himself a fucking engineer, like, holy shit I had to)<br />>Tell him to read something by an actual doctor<br />>Tell him to read about ASD and read up on psychology<br />>Tell him to read a highschool-level textbook<br />>Call his ideology a cult<br />>Tell him to stop virtue-signalling about autistic people<br />>Tell him that autists don't want his help<br />>Tell him to fuck off<br />Seriously I can't stand antivaxxers, and the more educated they are the more disgusted I am by the fact they don't understand basic highschool-level biology or chemistry for that matter.<br />I also can't stand when they claim to be trying to 'help' people, specifically autists, by trying to effectively stop vaccines from doing their job, but that shouldn't be a surprise given the rest of my post.<br /><br />Vaccines do not cause autism. They are not dangerous to you unless you have severe health issues that should have been pre-diagnosed already (as in at birth) or you've already managed to severely compromise your immune system somehow.<br />Even *IF* they did cause autism at any percentage point, they'd still be necessary as herd immunity protects people who can't get vaccinated. If Sally is carrying measles but it's dormant in her system, Jake and Holly are as well but Jimmy isn't immune because he can't get the shot due to a health condition guess what? Jimmy is likely going to get sick and die, or if he survives then there's a high chance that now he's been castrated by the infection if not also brain damaged, depending on Jimmy's age. A life ruined because a parent decided that their child didn't need to get vaccinated.<br />Yeah, you wanna know what's more likely to cause a spike in the tism? NOT vaccinating kids against measles/mumps. Because instead of a weak strain getting injected into their system in a controlled dose so that their body learns how to fight it, they instead get slammed with the full force of the disease that will likely strain their body to the point where their brain boils in their damn skull.<br /><br />You wanna protect kids? Get them vaccinated.
