"content": "Ants are awesome w many benefits to a yard. Especially having 3 large dogs having a healthy population of ants can keep flea populations in the landscape naturally under control. I'd never, ever broadly apply insecticides across our property. However, around fruits, veggies, herbs ants can have a negative impact. Firstly, they protect and bolster aphid populations. Trying to reduce a major aphid population without targeting ants first makes the process strenuous. Ants also weaken the vigor of certain fruits, figs in particular here.<br /><br />I've been using the Borax + Honey mixture for 10+ years with 100% success every time in greatly reducing the targeted colony population within a few days. I had always used the mixture rubbed onto a paper plate and still do this indoors. Outdoors that works .. until it rains ha. For years i'd fashion covers for the mixture plates which worked OK.<br /><br />A few years ago i purchased the green \"bait stations\" in the picture that stake into the ground. These do an excellent job keeping the mixture dry + protected while providing access for the ants. The ones i'm using are \"Kness Ant Bait Stations\". I also add a little rock sugar into the honey borax mix ( any sugar will do) to make it even more irresistible. <br /><br />The first 1-2 days it will seem like nothing is happening but that borax is making it's way back to colony headquarters. By the 3-4th day the population should be drastically dwindled. I'm pretty liberal with the amount of honey and borax added to each trap. Don't waste your good honey on this, the cheapest stuff available will work great.",

I imagine years ago before roads as we know them, living there an old woman, growing herbs, gathering water at the creek, casting spells. 😊 of course that never happened, it’s a good visual while there tho.",
