"content": "There is the classic exception, “Can’t yell ‘fire’ in a movie theater. I think this falls under more general principles…<br /><br />If one is using their speech to purposely endanger people, then perhaps that speech should not be allowed. But it must be proven that the person spoke in a purposely malicious manner with an intent to cause harm.<br /><br />Also, I believe the harm caused must be bodily harm. Of course, there is nuance, such as cases of true slander where you can destroy someone’s reputation to a degree where others don’t want to associate with them anymore and they may indirectly experience bodily harm in the form of loss of resources due to reputation damage.<br /><br />So there are some grey areas I am unsure about.<br /><br />However, one thing I am absolutely sure about is that no speech should be censored just because it is “wrong speech” or “misinformation”. If you cannot prove definitively that someone intends to mislead in an attempt to cause bodily harm to another human being, then no matter how wrong one may feel their perspective is, they should never be censored…",
