"content": "Not sure if anyone will see my post, or if any of those who may will care enough to read it, but this is a personal thing for me. So I guess it's best to just jump right in. At 33 years old, I have two sons both under the age of 3, and for the longest time I believed that if I invested in their future from day one I could secure it in some sense. So what I did was looked back to the mistakes my own family made. My family never had anything in abundance, but if they just had the presence of mind to preserve what it was they did have there is a very good chance the following generation would have been better off for it. With 7 children, my grandparents purchased tons of toys and collectibles over the years that are commanding a pretty penny in today's market. One story my grandmother would tell me all the time is how her boys ( 6 of the 7 kids ) would take handfuls of baseball cards and slide them in between the cracks of the floorboards of the house, and we're talking late 50's & 60's. With all this in mind I set out to buy rare sports cards that would one day show a return. Which they will. But this brings me to my current dilemma in that there are still many things I need to teach my sons before I do the \"importance\" of money. Such as responsibilities, how to feed ourselves by way of growing our own food and a laundry list of different things I hope they make a part of their character long before the appreciation of currency.<br />What my wife and I settled on was it is more important to keep them healthy now, and we are wanting to build a greenhouse among other things. So all those rare cards I thought I was saving for my sons future ? All either up for sale online right now or will be next month when I can sell the rest. <br /><br />So if anyone out there would be willing to help us reach our goals we would appreciate it greatly. Words will not suffice in describing just how much. I feel horrible feeding my kids the trash they sell in the stores and just because I was never taught to do so doesn't mean that I cannot teach them to not repeat my mistakes. But to do this I need help. And so I hope you're out there, whoever you are. I have 540 auctions up and the rest of what I have is going up next month once I can get fresh selling limits. <br /><br />My goal is $20k over the next two months. If for some reason this post reaches someone in particular who is willing to be my benevolent benefactor behind the scenes, then what I would like to do, assuming that person does not want these cards for themselves, is give them all away a couple at a time to kids for free. Maybe post some content on here doing so in hopes of getting others to pay it forward as well. <br /><br />I know this last part will probably make some people laugh. This never happens to people and life isn't a movie. But that is okay. I can take any ridicule that may come from it. I can take failing.
