The walk was surprisingly quiet for the birthday of a country. Half way across the bridge the bridge that spans the harbour in my home town I stop and rest my camera. I take a few shots to see what will turn out. I am not sober, most shots turn out blurry, shaky, or poor framing. I stumble on, it has been a long day. Finally the chemical cocktail that I have subjected my brain to starts to clear. I look over the side of the bridge, rest the camera, get the focus and click the shutter. Then I check the focus, click, focus, click, focus, click. Can't stay too long in one spot on this bridge. I don't want to encounter a jumper or be confused with one myself. I move on. Through the streets towards home. It seems too quiet in this city, it should be alive and teeming. Is it later than I thought? I reach into my bag and make a decision, no more shots tonight. I still have a long walk but that's nothing new. My bed awaits.",

Tried to get a shot without people on the bridge. But a park like this on a day like that, the chances of that happening while with a group of people, not about to happen. There were a few spots weren't populated. Got a few prime shots this day, but this one begs the story. My story is scattered. What story are you writing?",

It rained the day before and we are heading to a waterfall. Hoping the sun comes out like the forecast promised; not guaranteed, hell, it might snow. Ride is on the way, can't back out. Get to the start of the trail and the only thing that has changed is the wind has died down. Half way to the waterfall and the sun comes out, temperature goes up by about 5 degrees. Over dressed is better than under dressed in these woods. I seem to always take pictures of paths when I'm out, I don't know why I fixate on them. Happy that I was there, content with the couple hours in the woods, these things always take longer with a camera. The waterfall? Yeah, we found it, conditions were great, got good shots. Back to the path, back home to edit and post. Move forward, cover ground, don't lose your way, leave a path for others to see what you have.",

Another one of those places that you pass by and never really think of. Not really all that much to see, generic playground, open space, couple of trees. About to leave and in the chain-link I see a spot of colour. Curious. I don't know or care how the ball got wedged, looks kind of cool. Before I started this I would have took the ball, or only have stumbled though drunk. Now, leave it alone, a testament to impermanence. Ever forward, if only by millimetres. ",
