"content": "After his interview with Dr Jordan Peterson, it’s good to see comedian Tom Ballard continue to be willing to broach and bring to his audience what are difficult, decidedly unfunny and thus unpopular topics, in this distraction-addled world of ours. As we saw with Hannah Gadsby, perhaps comedy is a slightly gentler way of prying people’s eyes open..? 🤔<br /><br />I’ve been listening to what Douglas Murray and others have to say for a while now. I got to him tangentially - and from the opposite end of the political spectrum - as a result of studying the causes and effects of current mental health issues... so much of which is the inevitable, inescapable outcome when (for example) avoidance becomes collectivised and pathologised - and amply illustrated in the fable of The Emperor’s New Clothes.<br /><br />Aside from the inescapable conclusions of each, Immigration and Islam are proving to be increasingly fraught conversations for Western nations, precisely because the increasingly reactionary political maneuver of taking offence leaps in, hurling racist tropes to shame and shut it down before debate can be had. <br /><br />And this very phenomenon is what Murray talks about here, with Ballard. <a href=\"https://www.minds.com/search?f=top&t=all&q=EoTA\" title=\"#EoTA\" class=\"u-url hashtag\" target=\"_blank\">#EoTA</a><br /><br /><a href=\"https://youtu.be/7MEQ2v-8CQE\" target=\"_blank\">https://youtu.be/7MEQ2v-8CQE</a>",
