Some may never heard of it, some may think it is another heavy drug that should be made illegal and some may think its absolutely useless. Well here is my story about Kratom and why I use it.\r<br />\r<br />I spent quite a long time doing Hard Opioid drugs and decided to come off and used methadone, the problem was when I tried to get off the Methadone I went through hell for multiple months, it was even more difficult then the pills and powder I had used it to get off of. I was, however, determined to sober up for good. On my second month of sickness I stumbled across some Kratom, knowing it has some effect on the u-opioid receptors in the brain I decided to give it a try. Instant relief from my living hell and allowed me to eat and sleep a bit. That made the next few days much more bearable. And once a week I would dose to get myself to clear-headed state where id eat, sleep and get done tasks and errands that had to be done. Eventually I was able to go months without any Kratom. I also stayed abstinent from Opioids. I However, suffer from fairly debilitating anxiety, don't sleep very well and have a severe case of Restless leg syndrome. So about once a month I would get myself heavily sedated off Kratom in the evening after work; before bed. This alloowed me to calm my mind, and assess my situation and build an arsenal of mental tricks to combat my problems with anxiety and sleep, which while sober, I am usually to anxious to think clearly enough to help myself. My RLS also diminishes to nothing not only during the night that I dose but also for the entire week after, then instead of hitting me full force, it slowly creeps back into my life. Something I also would like to point out is I spoent almost 10 years heavily addicted to painkillers and heroin and now, other then sleep being really bad, after a year of good behaviour with nothing being used but Kratom; occasionally. I hardly even get a craving severe enough to faze me. The only big dent in my life would be that my dreams are riddled with syringes and me using, and it took a while for me to begin finding natural, pure and real joy in life. I owe the life I have now to Kratom, without it I would be right back to using and might even be dead by now. On top of assisting with my drug addiction it has also helped tremendously with my mental state and sleep. Due to my occasional depression that tends to sneak up on me a few times a year for short period of time each time. I just drink a small amount of tea in the morning and I am good to go! Ready to rock and roll!! (Kratom is stimulating in small doses and sedating in large doses). I no longer will use any pain killers if I get hurt cause Kratom takes away the pain. And every now and again I will substitute my morning coffee with Kratom.
