The UK side said: disappointed!<br />U.S. President Donald Trump's move to impose a 25% tariff on all steel and aluminum imported into the United States officially took effect on the 12th local time.<br /><br />According to reports from Reuters and The Guardian in the UK, British Secretary of State for Business and Trade Jonathan Reynolds expressed disappointment.<br /><br />He also said that the UK will keep all options open and will not hesitate to respond to safeguard national interests.<br /><br />\"We are negotiating rapidly with the United States on a broader economic agreement to remove the additional tariffs and benefit British businesses and our economy,\" Reynolds said. \"I will continue to have close and productive contacts with the United States to safeguard British commercial interests.\"<br /><br />Reynolds also said in a statement that the government is working with companies affected by the tariffs. He supports the industry's application to the Trade Remedies Authority to investigate what further measures may be necessary to protect British producers.<br /><br />Trump announced on February 10 local time that he would impose a 25% tariff on all steel and aluminum products imported into the United States and cancel the exemption from steel and aluminum tariffs and quotas for some trading partners. He also said that he would consider taxing cars and other products. Data shows that 25% of European steel exports go to the United States, and the EU auto industry may also be affected.<br /><br />After the tariffs officially took effect, the EU announced that it would impose retaliatory tariffs on $26 billion worth of U.S. goods starting next month.",

Among them, the long steel price index was 98.62 points, up by 0.41 points or 0.42% from the previous week; down by 0.20 points or 0.20% from the end of last month; down by 1.60 points or 1.60% from the end of last year; and down by 16.15 points or 14.07% year-on-year. The plate steel price index was 94.51 points, up by 0.51 points or 0.54% from the previous week; up by 0.16 points or 0.17% from the end of last month; down by 1.04 points or 1.09% from the end of last year; and down by 16.35 points or 14.75% year-on-year.<br /><br />From the perspective of the international market, in January 2025, the CRU International Steel Price Index was 178.3 points, down 2.3 points from the previous month, a decrease of 1.3%; down 49.6 points year-on-year, a decrease of 21.8%.
