Just a beautiful weekend at the homestead.<br /><br />Saturday, we were able to get in several hours of sweat, blisters, and sore muscles. After locking all the tools in the barn, we began walking back to the cabin and just had to pause and admire all that God has provided.<br /><br />After a full day it is satisfying to just take a moment, and let it soak in.<br />",

Have my work clothes on along with a 70's style sweatband heading out to do battle.<br /><br />Since tick season has arrived, I was doing a bit of research into these pesky critters that I sincerely hate! Now don't misunderstand, as a food source for chickens they are fine, but when they bite me, I have issues! There is a variety of tick that if you are bitten you can become allergic to red meat! Now that's just not fair.<br /><br />In my research I read about a species of tick that is actually active year-round. They become more active about every 4 years and are even found in cold regions. So, my friends, beware the Luna - Tic.",

"content": "I left the Matrix early this week because the weather forecast was rain all weekend and I had to get some more mowing/clean up done. My trusted sidekick \"Shelby\" and I made our escape early Thursday morning, arriving at the homestead we went to work cutting grass that was much too tall and weed eating to finish the clean-up.<br /><br />Friday the forecast held true, and we spent the day accomplishing other tasks around the cabin and listening to the rain on the metal roof. Mrs. Niche made her escape from the matrix early Friday.<br /><br />Early Saturday morning we had enough rain to prevent some outdoor chores, I could have done some more with the weed eater but decided to just piddle around the cabin. We went down to check the strawberry patch and were pleased to find a couple of handfuls of berries. Got them cleaned up and planning to have strawberries and ice cream this evening.<br /><br />According to Shelby the Homestead is not a \"place\" it is a \"state of mind.\" I couldn't agree more!",
