We have finally passed our framing 2 inspection which means we have a green light from the county government to finish our cabin renovation.<br /><br /><a class=\"u-url mention\" href=\"https://www.minds.com/mrsniche\" target=\"_blank\">@mrsniche</a> and I are getting ready for a flurry of activity and sweat. Our next milestone will be getting our indoor plumbing functioning. Once that happens, we will be able to spend our weekends working at the homestead.<br /><br />It is extremely difficult to be productive when you have a daily 3-hour commute. Not to mention the costs when you consider the amount of fuel needed for the commute. When we can arrive on Friday evening and spend the entire day Saturday working. Then spend Saturday night and return to the matrix on Sunday we can accomplish so much more. <br /><br />In addition, once the indoor plumbing is functioning, we will have electricity again which will allow us to have an internet connection at the homestead. With internet I can work from \"home\" a couple of days per week which gives me even more time to work at the homestead.<br /><br />If all goes well, we should have plumbing within the next 2 weeks, largely dependent on getting scheduled with the plumber and electrician.<br /><br />In some respects, I sincerely regret getting a building permit for the renovation. It has cost more than I ever imagined, not only in dollars spent but in time. Thats what I get for trying to follow the rules, perhaps I should have been a little more rebellious.<br /><br />All in all, with the impending renewal of Spring just around the corner. And the progress at the homestead it looks like 2025 will be a banner year.<br /><br />Looking forward to the sweat, aches, callouses, and all that goes with it. Now don't misunderstand, as a food source for chickens they are fine, but when they bite me, I have issues! There is a variety of tick that if you are bitten you can become allergic to red meat! Now that's just not fair.<br /><br />In my research I read about a species of tick that is actually active year-round. They become more active about every 4 years and are even found in cold regions.
