Dung Beetle is finishing up the milking station, getting a roof on. We are both 2 years behind after our health issues. Now we are playing catch-up. Knocked off a few chickens and sausage. today is laundry and pickled egg day. Miss having a garden but the cow/calf thing has required more attention as we learn how to do this. So, I guess foraging and harvesting what comes up on its own is a good thing for this year. Wondering why government would want to destroy food crops, besides wanting us dead. Saw a couple of videos on you tube. One of these was a questioning of the BLM. Learned that they want to put up wind and solar farms to send power to California. People don't want the energy farms in their state. Could it be that by shutting off water the farms have no means to support themselves and the land would become a dust bowl, farmers would be forced to sell? Or, is it the water is needed for the cobalt mine which has been granted to run 24 hours a day and requires massive amounts of water? Either way, crops die, people go hungry and farmers loose the land. <br /> Small scale farming, such as was done before the 1960's might be working its way back. More and more people are realizing the \"food\" in stores is not actually healthy, devoid of nutrition, bred for transport and not health or flavor. Hospital bills took a toll on the finances and health problems kept us from doing things as planned. We are pretty self sufficient and we are adaptable. Had planned a new cow shed/barn and to refence the old pasture. We have the wire and a charger that would fence in the pasture. Just need to buy the posts. I watched a video called How to tether your house cow. Showed it to Dung Beetle and he made it happen. Annie has been tethered during the day where the old pasture used to be. <br /> I have been thinking what we will do once the calf is born. Dung Beetle says we can just keep them both in the yard all day and he will mow for Annie and the sheep. But still I look at the pasture. <br /> Dung Beetle and I were looking out at the pasture when two deer came running through at full speed. I said, \"Wonder what scared them.\" Dung Beetle replied, \"Who knows.\" Dung Beetle turned to walk away and then I saw it. The cougar was hot on their tail. Early afternoon on a sunny day and the cougar is hunting in the brush around the pasture. Changes my plans for figuring a way for calf to be out there. Squashed my plans for wondering by myself. Yesterday was just as beautiful. Been a long time since we had sun here. Tulips are blooming as are the dandelions. Have not seen any bees yet. Have seen a few flies, one dragonfly and a cabbage moth. Sure hope the insect population grows. <br /> For the past three years the insect population has been in deep decline. This has an effect on farm-life. Insects pollinate the food we eat.....even male mosquitoes. Birds need insects to feed growing babies. Summer before last I was able to get around. I found many nests with dead babies, all skin and bones. Amphibian populations are down also. <br /> It is my belief that all of this is due to whatever it is they are spraying us with. Dung Beetle and I got caught in a rain storm that formed immediately after the sky was criss-crossed with chemtrails. We both suffered neurological damage. His was worse than mine. Massive headache, light sensitivity and unable to stand. <br /> It seems to be another attack on our food. Yesterday was just as beautiful. Been a long time since we had sun here. Tulips are blooming as are the dandelions. Have not seen any bees yet. Have seen a few flies, one dragonfly and a cabbage moth. Sure hope the insect population grows. \n For the past three years the insect population has been in deep decline. This has an effect on farm-life. Insects pollinate the food we eat.....even male mosquitoes. Birds need insects to feed growing babies. Summer before last I was able to get around. I found many nests with dead babies, all skin and bones. Amphibian populations are down also. \n It is my belief that all of this is due to whatever it is they are spraying us with. Dung Beetle and I got caught in a rain storm that formed immediately after the sky was criss-crossed with chemtrails. We both suffered neurological damage. His was worse than mine. Massive headache, light sensitivity and unable to stand. \n It seems to be another attack on our food.
