Their eyes reflect the soft glow from their screens and the mysterious light emanating from the mushrooms.<br /><br />MIKE (deep in thought, poking at a mushroom):<br />These things are completely out of this world, Dan. I mean, look at them! And the bio-luminescence isn't just some kind of aesthetic thing. It's like... it's like they're trying to communicate.<br /><br />DAN (nodding):<br />Yeah, like they're a part of some... some cosmic network or something. I think we should try to decode this.<br /><br />They look at each other, a newfound determination in their eyes. They begin to work, fingers flying over keyboards, codes flashing on screens, pages filled with complex formulas and sketches of the mushrooms. They start testing the mushrooms, taking samples, analyzing them under a microscope. They work tirelessly into the night.<br /><br />EXT. DAN AND MIKE'S APARTMENT - DAYBREAK<br /><br />As dawn breaks, the first rays of sunlight spill into the room. Dan and Mike, their faces gaunt with exhaustion, look up from their work, staring at the data displayed on their screens.<br /><br />MIKE (excited):<br />Look at this, Dan. The patterns... they correspond with the emojis from Jolly's text!<br /><br />DAN (surprised):<br />You're right...! The ice, fire, and fox... They're symbols. They correspond to these genetic markers in the mushrooms.<br /><br />They exchange glances, realization dawning on them.<br /><br />MIKE:<br />It's a code! Jolly was trying to tell us something about the mushrooms!<br /><br />DAN:<br />But what? What are these mushrooms capable of?<br /><br />They turn back to their screens, a newfound energy invigorating them as they continue their quest to decipher Jolly's message and understand the true nature of these extraordinary mushrooms.<br /><br />FADE OUT.<br /><br />Cut to:<br />INT. This is more to give people the opportunity to test it to see if it works. I think the last two are easier to maintain long term... but you need more self-awareness to notice the effects.<br /><br />----<br /><br />1. Modulate your Acetylcholine (ACH) system. <br /><br />ACH is the neurotransmitter that causes flow states, it increases:<br /><br />i. Attention/focus<br />ii. Recall Memory (access to your library of facts)<br />iii. Working Memory (the space you have to form cognitions in)<br />iv. Perseverance<br />v. Learning<br />vi. Neuro-plasticity<br /><br />There are two ways you can get into some ACH alchemy: (1) by increasing ACH receptor sensitivity (2) by using an ACH analog.<br /><br />Lion’s mane mushrooms increase ACH receptor site sensitivity. They are my drug of choice for socializing. In California tons of people grow them. My friends and I would generally get them for free (ie they are gifted to us and at some point we gift something back), or we buy them at a farmers market. Preferred consumption method is to fry them up with a bunch of butter then flavor with a hint of soy sauce… supplement with coffee. <br /><br />Dried lions mane in gel caps pack quite a punch, the best is Host Defense from Paul Staments. A bottle is pricey but it's well worth it for the effect at a per-pill basis. Beware of cheaper versions online, many people put cacao and black pepper extract in gel caps and sell them as lions mane (Beware of black pepper extract, it shuts down your liver--increasing the effect of molecules in your blood stream.<br /><br />Nicotine mimics ACH… that’s why it is so f*cking addictive. It reprograms your brain to use it—which includes all the physical habits. The best methods of ingestion are patches and gum. Inhaling it comes on too fast and leads to a crash (and is very bad for your lungs). Increase the functioning of your pre-frontal cortex<br /><br />You are suspended between the demands of society and the urges of your lower instinctual systems. Your cerebral canopy (the wrinkly bit) is where the patterning of society competes with your instincts for control of your behavior.<br /><br />Your Pre-frontal cortex is the part of you that can exert influence on this patterning process--it gives you what may be called 'freewill'. You can increase it's functionality with creatine.<br /><br />Creatine is a workout supplement that increases the reps you can do per set (look up the chemical process, it’s pretty cool). There is currently an ongoing discussion about it being more of a nootropic than workout supplement because it greatly increases the functionality of your prefrontal cortex. <br /><br />In university my friends and I noticed this ourselves and used it as a study aid to increase attention and focus. Creatine increases your ability to direct your thoughts and pattern your behavior.<br /><br />You could say it increases the freedom of your will--makes you more resistant to impulses and capture by mindless social movements. (Buy the micronized creatine, it's just ground finer)<br /><br />----<br /><br />3. Increase blood flow to your brain. <br /><br />Cardio is very good for mental acuity, as is muscular exercise--the best hobby you can pick up for health, longevity, and mental acuity is something like cycling. <br /><br />But, you can also take vasodilators like L-arginine (really cheap workout supplement), which do a lot for everything that runs on blood (ie everything). You feel smarter, put on muscle faster, etc. <br /><br />You want to cycle on and off to prevent your heart valves from getting flaccid--3 months on 3+ months off, and you should be getting exercise using vasodilators. If you don't exercise regularly stick to '1' and '2'<br /><br />The effects of the L-arginine are more subtle than the ACH hacking or creatine.
