"content": "I'm an advocate for free and open-source operating systems like Linux, designed to protect your personal privacy because they're not owned and can never be \"owned\" by corporations willing to convince you that they're your friend for the sake of profit.<br /><br />Operating systems like Windows, MacOS, iOS, and Google-Android harvest your personal information (also known as telemetry) and location and decide for you how you are and aren't allowed to use your own devices. Open-source operating systems solve this problem by being community-maintained, but this also means that they have next to no marketing.<br /><br />Beginner-friendly Linux distributions such as OpenMandriva, Garuda Linux, and Arco Linux are here to help you get back your privacy at no cost to you. Linux being community-driven, even if backed by a company to do the work, need your help to spread the word about keeping your machine's local data safe: the money they earn, if any at all, is used for doing more work and not marketing; thus, you are the life-blood of what keeps this space strong.<br /><br />Non-Linux FLOSS (free / libre and open-source software) operating systems also exist, like RedoxOS, but they need much more work before they can be at the same level as Linux currently is; personally, I wish for RedoxOS to succeed but it's going to need more developers and funding for those developers to take the time to do the work for this to happen.
