What we have is the dangerous psychopath & mad God Daffy & Porky as the level headed straight man, idiot & victim. The movie starts as these set characters with a new origin story of how they first met as them being orphaned together & taken in by a man called Farmer John.

There are 2 awesome set up jokes here at the beginning, the first being Farmer John as a detailed still picture, stallwart & larger than life while Daffy & Porky are cartoonishly animated. This clash of designs also plays an important role in the story & the ending. The second joke is just classic Merrie Melodies, Famer John \"is\" his name meaning because he adopted them their names are actually Daffy Duck John & Porky Pig John. There was even mention of Gabby Goat which made me feel so damn old because I knew who he was.

Mind you, this is still the beginning of the film because after the halfway mark it became a horror comedy like Shaun of the Dead which became more ironic since SotD was from Spaced & Spaced made a lot of Looney Tunes references. The whole film is a love letter to fans of Merrie Melodies & Looney Tunes, your great grandparents up to you.

This is what blew my mind about the film...it is a classic WB cartoon. The timing, the style, the parody usage & uniqueness of the characters are all there fit neatly in place.
