People need to remember one simple thing; the government exists, according to the Constitution, to protect our rights. Anything else is an overreach. We have a Democratic Republic. <br /><br />The states, through representatives, are what creates the federal government. The federal government can't exist, Constitutionally speaking, without the states. It's us, the people, who have the real power. Not the government. I believe in the office of the prophet as well as the gifting of prophecy. Now, one thing I know very well, is that so-called prophets today are more like the false prophets in the Old Testament. While words of encouragement are needed from time to time, the prophet's job is to call God's people to repentance. There is even a Facebook group where you can get your daily prophetic word. Basically, prophecy has become the Christian's horoscope. So Christians think that the word of the Lord is comfort and encouragement. People are having their ears tickled. What we need is repentance! Until we have people shouting from the rooftops for repentance, then words like this, while nice, I seriously doubt they are from God. I can't even begin to tell you how upset this makes me. Worse, is the people who go along with it, affirm it. Even on subjects like historical accuracy. This is why it's more easily accepted that the gift of prophecy exists but not the office. With the gift, you can be wrong. With the office, you have to be 100% all the time. This goes to show just how much repentance the Body must do. This is also why when giving a \"word\" people say \"I feel....\" This way if they're wrong, they can say it was a feeling or something. I hate everything about this. I hate how people claim to be prophets and get away with it. As long as it sounds good, people lap it up. I hate how that the people have no discerning and don't hold these \"prophets\" accountable.
