A fully intact ring from roughly 1000 years ago!<br /><br />This Byzantine ring is from around the years 900AD-1300AD and is made of bronze.<br /><br />Crafted around the time of the Crusades, this religious bronze signer ring features a round hoop connected to a circular bezel.<br /><br />The bezel is adorned with cross framed in a crown of dots with an inscription in ancient Greek around it.<br /><br />Byzantine Christian rings featured religious symbols and were thought to provide physical and spiritual protection. "content": "Antique 16 Bore Pinfire Double Barreled Shotgun (Belgian)<br />This here is a stunning example of Double Barreled (Side by side) shotgun in the Lefaucheux Pinfire patent!<br /><br />Dated around 1860 and manufactured in Belgium, this fabulous shotgun is in an absolutely fine condition! All parts and mechanisms are in perfect working order and functionality.<br /><br />Both the metal and wood are in a superb state, especially when considering the guns age. "content": "Antique 16 Bore Pinfire Double Barreled Shotgun (Belgian)<br />This here is a stunning example of Double Barreled (Side by side) shotgun in the Lefaucheux Pinfire patent!<br /><br />Dated around 1860 and manufactured in Belgium, this fabulous shotgun is in an absolutely fine condition! All parts and mechanisms are in perfect working order and functionality.<br /><br />Both the metal and wood are in a superb state, especially when considering the guns age. "content": "Antique .31 Bacon & Co Underhammer Pepperbox Pistol<br />Another very rare find indeed!<br /><br />This is the .31 pepperbox revolver pistol developed and manufactured by Bacon & Co in Norwich Connecticut in the United States.<br /><br />This pistol features a fairly unique underhammer design and a 4 inch revolving ribbed barrel cluster.<br /><br />The barrel cluster has been stamp marked with “Cast Steel” as well as the makers mark “Bacon & Co Norwich C – T”.<br /><br />Another nice feature to be seen is the light scroll engraving to nipple shield and frame, as well as the ensuite engraving to the back straps.<br /><br />But a stand out feature of this pistol is its sheer rarity! It must be kept in mind that these were produced in very small quantities during the latter part of Bacon & Co’s existence, circa 1852-1857. Production estimates are quite low, at about 200 total. The .31 caliber, 6-barreled percussion pepperboxes were fairly unique within that genre of handgun in that they were both single action and underhammer designs. The most common variant of pepperbox during that period was a double action only, bar hammer design, as typified by most of the guns of that pattern produced by Ethan Allen and his later Allen & Thurber and Allen & Wheelock companies. The guns produced by Bacon were produced in both ribbed and fluted barrel variation with barrel clusters of 3”, 4” and 5” with the longer and shorter barrels being quite uncommon and the 4” cluster being the standard.<br /><br />On top of just how rare it is, the condition is also quite desirable. "content": "Enfield Windsor P53 3 Band Rifled Musket With Bayonet<br />This here is a fine example of an P53 Enfield. However this is a most rare variant.<br /><br />This is one of the least common of all the variations of the Pattern 1853 Enfield Rifle Musket, known simply to collectors as the Windsor Enfield. This musket was built in the United States, under contract for the British Government, by the firm of Robbins & Lawrence of Windsor, Vermont. This pattern of gun is what collectors and researchers refer to as a Type II P-1853 rifle musket. The primary features that separate it from the much more common Type III P-1853 (which was the version primarily used during the American Civil War), are solid barrel bands that are retained by band springs (instead of screw fastened, Palmer patent, clamping bands) and a rammer that is retained in the stock by a swell near the tip, similar to the US M-1855 & 1861 rammers.<br /><br />The rifle is a 3 band and uses the percussion lock system as was common before cartridge based guns were largely introduced in the following decades.<br /><br />The P53 was used by the British Empire from 1853 to 1867 and also proved quite popular with the Confederates during the American Civil War.<br /><br />This rifle in particular was manufactured in 1855. Although the stamps are faded and the side panel aged with pitting, the stamps can still be seen.<br /><br />Overall the condition is good with only a few signs of age to be seen. The wood is for the most part fully intact, though the odd scuff, crack and dent can be seen throughout. The lock mechanism is still functioning and the cleaning rod is present under the barrel. The M1889 Schmidt Rubin was designed by Eduard Rubin and Rudolph Schmidt to such a high standard that through the rifles long life, the basic design was kept pretty much the same with all other models right up until 1953, from it’s first production date of 1891.<br /><br />This model used the old 7.5 x 53.5mm Swiss rounds with a 12 shot magazine.<br /><br />The quality of this rifle is positively superb and the condition is great! Barely any signs of age despite how old it is and still retains most of it’s original qualities. All stamps are still as clear as can be. Still looking fantastic besides the odd scuff on the metal and wood. The safety and straight pull action work just fine. The rifle boasts a blued steel finish, beautifully polished hardwood stock and matching numbers.<br /><br />This rifle comes with it’s original 12 shot box magazine, graduated rear sights from 300-1000 and an original muzzle cover consisting of fluted brass and spring steel attachment for muzzle/bore protection. It is also accompanied by an original leather sling and M1889 Bayonet. The sling is a little worn but still looking just fine.<br /><br />The bayonet is that of a single edge blade and like the rifle it looks great! Showing it’s age only slightly, the scabbard is fully intact as is the handle and the blade has only slight imperfections, still retaining a fine shine.
