"content": "The next time they want to toss the \"But the polio vaccine saved many lives\" let them know that from 1929 to 1952 the rate of Polio was in the decline because personal hygiene and better sewage and water safety practices were taking place in major cities. Yes there were many flair ups but they were becoming increasingly less and less each year. The vaccine only helped stabilize the populace but in reality better food and sanitation practices were being implemented which is the REAL REASON we no longer have polio in this country. Don't believe me? Afghanistan and Pakistan have been vaccinating their people for over 40 years and polio is still the #1 killer of children in these 2 countries. Why would this be? Because their health and sanitation infrastructure sucks to high heaven maybe? You can't vaccinate your way out of this problem until your people can drink clean water and human/animal poop isn't everywhere. Basically it's proof positive that the polio vaccine doesn't work but a proper diet, good hygiene and working sanitation does. <br /><br />So since the polio vaccine has been proven to be a joke, I'm starting to wonder what else doesn't really work. ",
