Most people outside of tech have never heard of the company, but the company and its founders are (were) well respected in web development circles. <br /><br />Jason Fried, one of the three founders posted this open letter to company employees. The company has listed 6 changes that are going into effect, one of which is no more societal or political discussions on the Basecamp accounts. These discussions (arguments) can happen on other SM accounts, just not \"where the work happens anymore\". <br /><br />\"This may look like compression. A reduction, an elimination. And it is. It's precisely that. We're compressing X to allow for expansion in Y. A return to whole minds that can focus fully on the work we choose to do. A return to a low-ceremony steady state where we can make decisions and move on.\"<br /><br />The company and founders are getting shredded by the left, but they knew this would happen and I believe they will hold strong. People and companies are tired of walking on eggshells, afraid of saying the wrong thing, using the wrong words. Most people outside of tech have never heard of the company, but the company and its founders are (were) well respected in web development circles. \n\nJason Fried, one of the three founders posted this open letter to company employees. The company has listed 6 changes that are going into effect, one of which is no more societal or political discussions on the Basecamp accounts. These discussions (arguments) can happen on other SM accounts, just not \"where the work happens anymore\". \n\n\"This may look like compression. A reduction, an elimination. And it is. It's precisely that. We're compressing X to allow for expansion in Y. A return to whole minds that can focus fully on the work we choose to do.
