Even the rules. Even your rules (as annoying as that is).<br /><br />This does 2 main things : sharpens their minds and<br />Keeps everyone around them on their toes. If you expect them to follow the rules purely because 'Because I said' you are discouraging them for thinking for themselves, and discouraging yourself from being held accountable.<br /><br />Why are you making them follow a rule?explain it to them simply. If you can't, ask yourself - why am I making them do this?<br /><br />If you establish that you are accountable to the rules as well, then you lead by example and you're also establishing consistency. It also will make it harder for them to be taken advantage of. If another adult tries to get them to do something that they shouldn't be doing and can't back it up, your child will know that something is not right.<br /><br />Question everything!<br />",
