You have a fast and strong attack, along with a block button and a few ranged options at the side. The enemy also has this, and the way you or the enemy fights affects each other. "content": "So, I made a post earlier regarding an Old Laotian-run asian market that was active in my town, and served the best Pad Thai in existence. <br /><br />It's simple enough, as a story: Old man and his wife run a small asian market to boost up their retirement funds, and in the process create a pad thai that to this day, still beats out every new establishment that claims to serve the same thing. <br /><br />They got too old to run the place, and sold it to people who no longer maintain the recipe. We lost contact shortly after. <br /><br />From what I know, the old man was from Laos, and he escaped sometime during a war or conflict or genocide going on there. We called him Mr. Fong. Whether that was his real name, a moniker, or a nickname, I'll never know. He was a great guy. Funny guy. Would be even funnier if either we spoke his native tongue, or he spoke english fluently. Incredibly clever, no wonder he survived. <br /><br />From this alone, I can extrapolate that he and his family either had the recipe from that region, or from neighboring regions he traveled through when making his way to America. <br /><br />I've tried to find Laotian Pad Thai, but I don't think it goes by the same name, locally. And the reason I'm trying to find this is because there are regional and even familial variances between pad thai recipes. It's like their equivalent to Southern barbecue. <br /><br />The only way this guy's Pad Thai stands out, has to come from the fact that he is from Laos, or he picked up the secret along the way between there and the US.<br /><br />I'm suspecting that there is either a difference in ingredients, portioning, or method that set his apart from every other thai establishment here. But every attempt to find it has resulted in nothing. <br /><br />I have found a cookbook, \"Petals of the Champaka,\" which is a thai cookbook that no doubt has a few hints on how this is made. And obviously, there's the professional chefs' variations on youtube like Weissman, Alton Brown, and a dozen others who have offered up their take. <br /><br />The best way I can describe the flavor profile, was... <br /><br />The primary elements were sweet and spicy. But not like sweet as in sickly sweet, like what comes from sugar. It was an earthy sweetness that felt caramelized, without the direct caramel flavor. <br /><br />The spice obviously came from the chili oil, which is easy to create. But I'm trying to figure out where that sweetness came from, and where the uniquely dark color scheme came from. <br /><br />From what I know of pad thai, the primary sweet components comes from tamarind and cane sugar vinegar. But I don't know what the proper portions are, and I'm trying to figure out if I'm missing anything outside of that. <br /><br />I'm suspecting dark soy sauce, or some kind of fruit molasses, but I don't have much experience with fruit molasses to make a proper judgement on that. <br /><br />There was one recipe attributed to Laos that I found, which strangely used a method that dissolved the sugar into the oil before frying up the ingredients. I... I tried that, but I ended up making oil candy... So I definitely screwed that up... <br /><br />As an additional attempt to boost this, I'm going to try and add a few hashtags to see if anyone on the southeast asian side of Minds has any pointers I can look to. <br /><br /><a href=\"https://www.minds.com/search?f=top&t=all&q=Thai\" title=\"#Thai\" class=\"u-url hashtag\" target=\"_blank\">#Thai</a><br /><a href=\"https://www.minds.com/search?f=top&t=all&q=Thailand\" title=\"#Thailand\" class=\"u-url hashtag\" target=\"_blank\">#Thailand</a><br /><a href=\"https://www.minds.com/search?f=top&t=all&q=MindsTH\" title=\"#MindsTH\" class=\"u-url hashtag\" target=\"_blank\">#MindsTH</a><br /><a href=\"https://www.minds.com/search?f=top&t=all&q=padthai\" title=\"#padthai\" class=\"u-url hashtag\" target=\"_blank\">#padthai</a><br /><a href=\"https://www.minds.com/search?f=top&t=all&q=Laos\" title=\"#Laos\" class=\"u-url hashtag\" target=\"_blank\">#Laos</a>",

We lost contact shortly after. \n\nFrom what I know, the old man was from Laos, and he escaped sometime during a war or conflict or genocide going on there. We called him Mr. Fong. Whether that was his real name, a moniker, or a nickname, I'll never know. He was a great guy. Funny guy. Would be even funnier if either we spoke his native tongue, or he spoke english fluently. Incredibly clever, no wonder he survived. \n\nFrom this alone, I can extrapolate that he and his family either had the recipe from that region, or from neighboring regions he traveled through when making his way to America. \n\nI've tried to find Laotian Pad Thai, but I don't think it goes by the same name, locally. And the reason I'm trying to find this is because there are regional and even familial variances between pad thai recipes. It's like their equivalent to Southern barbecue. \n\nThe only way this guy's Pad Thai stands out, has to come from the fact that he is from Laos, or he picked up the secret along the way between there and the US.\n\nI'm suspecting that there is either a difference in ingredients, portioning, or method that set his apart from every other thai establishment here. But every attempt to find it has resulted in nothing. \n\nI have found a cookbook, \"Petals of the Champaka,\" which is a thai cookbook that no doubt has a few hints on how this is made. And obviously, there's the professional chefs' variations on youtube like Weissman, Alton Brown, and a dozen others who have offered up their take. \n\nThe best way I can describe the flavor profile, was... \n\nThe primary elements were sweet and spicy. But not like sweet as in sickly sweet, like what comes from sugar. It was an earthy sweetness that felt caramelized, without the direct caramel flavor. \n\nThe spice obviously came from the chili oil, which is easy to create. But I'm trying to figure out where that sweetness came from, and where the uniquely dark color scheme came from. \n\nFrom what I know of pad thai, the primary sweet components comes from tamarind and cane sugar vinegar. But I don't know what the proper portions are, and I'm trying to figure out if I'm missing anything outside of that. \n\nI'm suspecting dark soy sauce, or some kind of fruit molasses, but I don't have much experience with fruit molasses to make a proper judgement on that. \n\nThere was one recipe attributed to Laos that I found, which strangely used a method that dissolved the sugar into the oil before frying up the ingredients. I... I tried that, but I ended up making oil candy... So I definitely screwed that up... \n\nAs an additional attempt to boost this, I'm going to try and add a few hashtags to see if anyone on the southeast asian side of Minds has any pointers I can look to. \n\n#Thai\n#Thailand\n#MindsTH\n#padthai\n#Laos",
