"content": "Are you planning to start growing your own food this year? Are you looking for ways to improve or expand your existing kitchen garden? As a garden designer, I thought I would share with you some of my favorite kitchen garden layout ideas and tips, to help you make this year's garden a success.<br /><br />In this post, I'll speak about 3 ways, then rest in the second part of the post ; <br /><br />As with so many things in gardening, garden layout carries few hard and fast rules. There is no “one size fits all” approach. You need to take your location and individual circumstances into account. But here are some things that you might like to consider.<br /><br />1. Think Outside the Box :<br /><br />Many kitchen gardeners begin with one of two ideas – traditional row planting, or the small space techniques of square foot gardening. But a kitchen garden definitely does not have to be so regimented. You can implement the ideas of either (or both) of these typical methodologies while still thinking outside the box.<br /><br />Beds, for example, do not need to be square or rectangular. While sometimes using these shapes may be the best choice, other ideas can sometimes win out. Consider curving, more natural forms, as you might in an ornamental garden. You might even like to consider round beds, or more intricate forms such as those found in a mandala garden. Maximizing edge, the most productive part of an ecosystem, often involves playing around with different shapes and ideas.<br /><br />2. Consider Access and Accessibility:<br /><br />While playing around with shapes, forms, and layout, don't forget to keep practicalities in mind. Make sure that you plan your kitchen garden layout to make it as easy as possible for you to tend. Beds should always be small enough so that you can reach all parts of them without having to tread on and compact the growing areas. Paths should always be wide enough to allow you through.<br /><br />Think about how you will really use your garden, and how you will get from A to B. The more easy and convenient it is to tend your kitchen garden (and the closer it is to your kitchen) the more likely you are to make the most of it. And the less likely you are to neglect it.<br /><br />3. Integrate, Don't Segregate :<br /><br />Think about water up front – integrate water harvesting and water management schemes into your layout and design.<br />Consider integrating composting into the beds themselves – creating lasagna beds or hugelkultur mounds, for example. You could also place a composting vessel at the heart of a keyhole bed. Or make a compost filled fence as a division between two garden areas.<br />Create polycultures – avoid mono-crop plantations. Use companion plants and beneficial plant combinations wherever you can.<br />Remember, many edible crops are ornamental. And a number of ornamental plants are edible too. Integrate your kitchen garden with ornamental flower bed planting – you can have both and it definitely does not have to be either-or.<br /><br />Let's talk out your challenges in the comment box while we await the second part of the write up.",

Sometimes I even reject getting paid because of one phrase that has stuck with me and that is 'Renting spaces on people's head'<br /><br />However In return I have gotten much more than I could have been paid for.<br /><br />I have been able to enter certain circles because of the value I bring and I get recommended for certain opportunities.<br /><br />No I am not saying you should always to things freely for people, what I am saying is that your shouldn't limit your mind to the monetary exchange of your value.<br /><br />Strive to build relationships through the value you bring.<br /><br />Help people through the value you bring<br /><br />Volunteer your value for certain causes.<br /><br />You may not get the reward now but surely it will come.<br /><br />Your Personal Brand shouldn't just be about money but the desire to impact and influence as many lives as possible through what you carry.<br /><br />Let this be your focus<br /><br /><br />",

"content": "<br />Former Speakers of the House of Assembly in Ekiti and Ondo States have denied declaring support for the Bola Tinubu 2023 presidency.<br /><br /><br />A meeting of serving and former Speakers in the Yoruba States was held in Ibadan, Oyo State, for the presidential ambition of the All Progressive Congress (APC) National Leader.<br /><br />The parley was spearheaded by the Lagos House of Assembly Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa and Titi Oseni, Coordinator of ex-Speakers in South-West.<br /><br />In their reaction, the former legislative heads said there was no endorsement of Tinubu and that no communique was issued to that effect.<br /><br />Five ex-Ondo Speakers: Victor Olabimtan, Oluwasegun Bolarinwa, Ayo Agbomuserin, Abdusalam Olawale Taofeeq, Kenneth Olawale, and Patrick Ajigbolamu (Ekiti) issued a statement on Sunday.<br /><br /><br />They noted that Obasa was at the meeting to solicit the support of the ex-speakers, as automatic national delegates, “for the aspiration of his mentor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu”.<br /><br />The signatories recalled that when the issue was discussed, they maintained they would wait for the directive of their governors.<br /><br />They noted that Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and Governor Kayode Fayemi were in the best position to speak for their states.<br /><br />The chieftains revealed they told the gathering that all candidates from the zone, including Tinubu, had a legitimate right to aspire to lead the country.<br /><br /><br />“The ex-speaker from Ekiti State also informed the gathering that his Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi is equally interested in the presidency and eminently qualified. As much as the issue of national politics is concerned, we are of the opinion that every eligible aspirant deserves equal right and opportunity.<br /><br />“As a member of the All-Progressives Congress, APC, we are not against the aspiration of any member of the party from the Southwest Region. Every State in the Southwest, be it Lagos, Ondo, or Ekiti is qualified to produce a candidate and whoever that the leadership of the Party supports, we will support”.<br /><br /><br />The former Speakers added that Governors are the leaders of the party in states, adding that they will never do anything contrary to their interest.<br /><br />They said if Tinubu is interested in running for the 2023 Presidency and Fayemi too aspires, both are qualified to run.<br /><br />“None of them has openly declared interest or intention to do so.
