"content": "As a Brit, I feel it’s important for me to talk about my online experience with the Left, of which I consider myself a part. I joined the UK Labour Party some years back because I admired Jeremy Corbyn. Many can’t stand him, but I found myself agreeing with much of what he had to say. I’m not a tribal sort of a person. I’m a swing voter. I go with my instincts on policies put forward and the people in charge at the time of elections. Most politicians rarely keep their promises anyway. There are parallels between Corbyn and Trump, in that neither men appear to cave in to media pressure. They cannot be bought. <br />During the Brexit drama (I’m pro-Brexit, but that’s another story), I was increasingly taken aback by the venom spewed forth by so-called Left wing liberals. These “be kind” individuals, were full of hatred and quite willing to bully anyone who disagreed with their politics. It only got worse in the run up to our British parliamentary election. They were convinced (due to their moral superiority) Labour would win and were utterly shocked when the conservatives won massively. Even now, the left-wing Remainers (anti-Brexiters) are still refusing to accept defeat, even though it’s done and dusted. Anyone with their eyes open must be able to see that the left stoke the fires of hatred and division much more than anyone on the right. I’m old, I’ve had enough time to watch it happen. The left sit on their high horses and sneer down at people. I’ve watched it with Brexit, I watched it during the British election and I’ve now witnessed it during the US election. I still consider myself centre-left but I increasingly cannot stand many of the people “on my side”. I’ve cancelled my Labour Party membership and I’m now politically homeless. Our British right-wing government are so committed to dishing out public money to their mates in private contracts, I can’t get behind them. British Labour have lost the plot. I increasingly find myself agreeing with many (moderate) American Conservatives! To be quite honest, I’m hoping some new centrist parties emerge on both sides. I suspect most rational people want this dangerous polarisation to stop. ",
