"content": "I just got back from Alabama to pick up silkie chicks. I was originally going to get baby chicks but they had these adorable little 6 week olds that were from their previous hatch that they were offering at the same price (a bargain) and they had a beautiful variety of colors still available on these as well. Indoors, they won’t need a heat plate, and it’s six less weeks of feed too. 🤷🏻♀️ And they are far less delicate at this age (less worrying and fuss). This is the same place I got Miss Pepper, and their birds are gorgeous. ",

"content": "It was a rainy chilly day today so I puttered around in the greenhouse, rinsed and stacked seed trays and potted up random odds and ends. I also planted a few bush peas in this big rolling mini garden bed. This is something “Big Poppy” impulse purchased. It’s kind of “meh”, and I haven’t really used it much because it was originally getting waterlogged, so I added more drainage holes and I’ve ended up doing a sort of mini hugelkulture in it, wood and sticks and chicken run compost in the bottom, potting soil and composted cow manure on top. I’ve never actually successfully grown anything in it (due to it’s previously poor drainage) but we’ll see how these peas do now that I’ve modified it. 🤔",
